I'm curious of Slovenia's mentality in the US game. Knowing they have England waiting for them, are they going to be really pushing for a win? I hope so, that plays to the US's counter attack and I think that's a huge advantage.

Please stop taking over this thread, soccer complainers. I'm actually interested to see how North Korea plays against the other two teams in their group. I thought they held their own today vs. Brazil but obviously weren't going to get any points from the game anyway. I think it would be great to see DPRK hold teams to ties because those other teams are desperate for points against them knowing they have to play Brasil too.

Way late but here's my thoughts on the US-England match: -Mikey Bradley is once again proving why he's the most under appreciated player on the US squad. He was great yesterday and I expect more of the same over the next two games. -Wayne Rooney was invisible for huge stretches of the match. I thought he was going to slice and dice the backline but that wasn't even close to the case. I'm not prepared to give the US's defense credit for Rooney's performance, but they played a part. -I think Friday's tie with Slovenia is even bigger than before. We should expect England to take 3 points from Algeria and that puts the US is a spot where they don't want to have to win vs Algeria to advance.

Fair result. I thought dos Santos was the best player on the pitch. South Africa did themselves proud and I think they can still advance out of the group.

With all the big names going down that hopefully levels the playing field and gives second tier times (U.S.) an opportunity to make a bigger impact. But I am disappointed in not seeing the best play the game on the biggest stage.
