Jeez. That list of forwards is old. Is there any hope for any current 17/18/19 year olds making huge progress a la Jozy during this last cycle? Was Jozy a prospect for 2010 back in 2006?

The pbp and color guys for this tournament are light-years better than almost any baseball pbp and color guys No question. The studio analysis is meh though.

He was in Holland for the friendly and said he still wants to regardless of whether or not he'll ever get to play in a World Cup. Although with this injury, it's a real possibility he isn't as good as Edu, Clark, Torres or Feilhaber anymore. I'd bet we'll see him in next year's Gold Cup, unless his leg just never heals. That will be for a spot in the Confed Cup right? We could also get into the Confed cup by winning the World Cup.

In terms of gaining fans yes, but no in history. Paul Caligiuri's shot in '89 could be included as it helped to gain the '94 Cup. The '94 World Cup had already been awarded to the United States by the time the U.S. qualified for '90 World Cup. But that goal is still significant because it had been 40 years since the U.S.'s last cup.

Going into the World Cup, many pundits (myself too) thought New Zealand was one of the weakest sides in tournament. They deserve some credit for playing pretty good. They weren't in the toughest group but anytime you earn three points in the World Cup you aren't a slouch. And best of all, they finished ahead of Italy.

Do they carry over from round of 16, to semis? Thus making you miss final? Yes, and that's happend. IIRC, Michael Ballack missed the '02 final vs. Brasil because of that.
