  1. Hopefully next year the Cubs can fail upwards like Detroit. Imagine selling at the deadline, including your best pitcher, being 8 games under .500 in early August, 10 games back in the wildcard race and still making the postseason. Wtf. 😂
  2. Looks like history will have to wait another day. White Sox lead 7-0 after the 5th.
  3. History will have to wait. Trust the Angels to be hopeless 😩
  4. People pay good money to watch a baseball game and that green horsefeathers is blocking their view.
  5. Who does Kevin Alcantara think he is? Willson Contreras? 😄
  6. White Sox are now 1-94 when trailing in the 7th inning or later. I wanted to see history tonight ffs. Sad face.
  7. If you showed me a picture of Nick Castellanos when he was on the Cubs and a picture of him today, I wouldn’t know you were showing me a picture of the same person.
  8. Sucking while playing for a Philly team at home probably isn’t that fun.
  9. Timely reminder that these days you have players missing half the year for a blister on the finger and back in the day there was literally a player nicknamed Three Finger Brown in the Hall of Fame. 😂
  10. Right, you are. I somehow missed that.
  11. So, Ohtani has gone 13 for 17 with five homeruns and 13 RBI in his last four games, together with six stolen bases. Ohtani is currently ranked equal third by fWAR (8.0) behind Judge (10.4) and Witt Jr (10.1), tied with Gunnar Henderson, and Juan Soto is fifth (7.9). By bWAR, Ohtani is only fifth (8.1) behind Judge (10.0), Witt Jr (9.4), Henderson (8.8) and Jarren Duran (8.5). Crazy how a 50/50 (or possibly 60/60) campaign might not be an MVP campaign. Ohtani does only DH so that would be a big reason why.
  12. Yeah, probably. If it gets completely rained out, I assume there will be no makeup game and both clubs finish the year having played 161.
  13. Oh good, we are saved. Wesneski is in. Edit: I guess I wasn’t paying attention to the entirety of the 7th inning, which Wes pitched.
  14. InB4 the inevitable 3 run HR given up by Keegan Thompson.
  15. What is the point of the tarp being right in that spot? There is no tarp anywhere else, except there.
  16. If only CJ was a 50 HR/50 stolen base threat, then he could gamble all he wants.
  17. Tim Howard singing the 7th inning stretch at Wrigley Field was not on my bingo card.
  18. No JD, 83-84 is not good enough in any year for a big market team.
  19. Just think that with 9 regular season games and a whole host of postseason games remaining for the Dodgers, Shohei might just finish with a 60-60 campaign.
