  1. Craig Counsell’s pre-game pep talk: “Get back to the team that scored 99 runs in 10 games ffs!” ”Okay gaffer.”
  2. No. Nope. Not getting my hopes up. Never again. I don’t care. He will end up on the Dodgers or Yankees…. or Seattle. Anywhere but with this club.
  3. Just need that one day from someone who is seeing it well. Rafael Ortega was the last Cubs to do it. He had 330 PA’s that year and hit 11 home runs, so a bit of an anomaly of a game. If I had to guess one current Cub hitter to do it. Probably Ian Happ. Against the Pirates (or any NL Central team), because that makes the most sense lol.
  4. Even accidentally, a team couldn’t replicate 31-109. 😂
  5. Probably not like this. Today was his second 3HR game in a month.
  6. It fascinates me that we are in September and the higher ups still see Kyle Hendricks as the 2016 version and not Temu Kyle Hendricks, which is what he has been for a long time. As much as we have fans saying “give him one start as a final goodbye”, we are so far into the year that he will make the rest of his starts. Such a weird year this has been.
  7. Who are the Ricketts not going to spend money on?
  8. Good to see after the highs of 9-1, 99 runs in 10 games and getting back into the wildcard race. They are about to lose a series against the Pirates, right before they are due to face the Yankees. Baseball is such a stupid sport.
  9. Meanwhile, Kyle Schwarber has hit 2 home runs and a double in his first 3 AB’s tonight.
  10. Yeah, in all seriousness, haven’t felt that horsefeathers after a loss in a while.
  11. Disappointing loss. If only Lopez didn’t take a hit of Belli’s reefer before he went out to pitch. 😞
  12. New tactic. Hit the baseball where De La Cruz is not.
  13. Another 15-20 pitches really wouldn’t have killed Taillon. So horsefeathers weird to take a cruising veteran out after 7 innings.
  14. That was an excellent stop from Busch. The baseball could have bounced right open his glove, such good hand positioning.
  15. “This smells like Taylor Swift.” Um. Eww.
  16. 14 runs today is only this lineups equal 2nd highest score of the last 6 games.
  17. And just like Mike Trout, I am letting Ohtani’s entire career pass me by without watching any of it because I can’t sit down to watch another 3 hours daily after the Cubs. What a unicorn. Documentaries are going to be made about Ohtani,
  18. 70-66. Now that’s a record I like seeing.
  19. You know that an eye glasses chain would never want to be a MLB sponsor. Umpires might tank the entire company.
