  1. 63 years old is no age to die. 😞

  2. It’s good to see the team with the lower payroll winning for once. 🙄
  3. Imagine scouting Mark Leiter Jr for months when he was playing for a different team and thinking that is a player you want to be pitching high leverage in the ALCS.
  4. Mets are no match for these Dodgers.
  5. horsefeathers yeah, Greece! Get in. Did it for George Baldock and thoroughly outplayed England. Had the ball in the back of the net 5 times. Incredibly proud this morning.
  6. If the baseball thing doesn’t work out for Dylan Cease, there’s A Fistful of Dollars remake with his name on it.
  7. Detroit are one win away from the ALCS. Nuts.
  8. The double match fix is a rarity in sport.
  9. This is the history of the Dodgers in the postseason. Go Padres!
  10. Baseball is incredible. The amount of firsts that still happen. Stuff you’d have thought have happened, actually haven’t.
  11. You just knew it was all over when Butto dropped the baseball on the mound when he was warming up
  12. The Baseball HOF voters are pretty set in their ways. We have legendary players who have been deceased for decades not in the HOF because they cheated. But who knows, voters who refuse to vote for players that cheated, will eventually pass away and new younger voters will replace them, without any issues with putting these players into. In any case, RIP Pete Rose! He deserves to be acknowledged as one of the greats. Edit: And I came to the replies after reading your post. I guess I should have read the other replies too. I didn’t know about the above. Yeah, that changes everything. 😡
  13. Yep. You just know that Jed and the Ricketts thinking will be that the team finished 6 wins below contenders Mets and Braves, so minimal upgrades are needed. Pricks.
  14. Anyone who gambles on the Cubs deserves to lose money. Chicago Cubs motto: “We literally never improve from year to year, but we will never be the White Sox. So come out to watch Chicago Cubs baseball, and give us your money.”
  15. Thank horsefeathers it’s all over! Now I am off to do my best Jed Hoyer impression and stare at a brick wall until opening day.
  16. Kyle Hendricks was just one of the players that gave a long suffering fan base hope, and he delivered time and time again. 2016 was something special. He nearly won the Cy Young awards. He was amazing that year. Yep, totally disagreed with that move from Joe Maddon. That series, as a whole, was wild. It contained two chokes (Cubs going behind 3-1 after a 103 win campaign and Cleveland losing it from 3-1 up), the better team (IMO) almost running away in the final two games (9-3 win and 5-1 lead) and then a nearly choke as the final act (5-1 and 6-3 lead in Game 7 before needing extras).
  17. “After review, there’s no fun in baseball and we didn’t like the celebrations by the Chicago Cubs players. The runner is confirmed safe.”
  18. Yay. 1-0 and on our way to an above average W/L record with….. checks notes, last years record.
  19. With the low energy baseball being played by these two clubs this series, they might forget to score any runs and this could turn into the longest game in baseball history.
  20. Very true. At the time, yes definitely. Right now, you probably only take Contreras back from that group.
  21. You’re a glass half full kind of person, aren’t you? 😛
  22. Theo listening to Jed saying how “I” got the Kyle Hendricks deal done.
  23. A bit sad to think that soon our last member of the 2016 squad will have made his final Cubs appearance.
