    LCS

Such a good position for Texas to be in. 2-0 after the first two Houston hosted games.
  2. Wrong thread.
  3. Has anyone watched the David Beckham documentary on Netflix? I knew a lot about this career up until his MLS playing career but to relive what he went through after the 1998 World Cup, horrible. It was so good to hear the stories from Sir Alex Ferguson, Gary Neville, Roy Keane and to even get some of his Real Madrid teammates was a nice touch. Seeing how the MLS was when David Beckham first arrived in 2007 to the professional competition it has grown into does show the influence of the man.
  4. Only sport I know where a team loses a postseason series and then just sit there in the dugout watching the other teams celebrations. Get out of there and into the locker rooms.
  5. Unfortunately, yes. Happy with the trophy but can only hope that the next window stays open for much longer.
  6. And then you have the Cubs coming along after not making a postseason in 7 years, making the NLCS in 2015 and then the World Series the following year. Astros, Dodgers and Braves needed years to climb the mountain. The Cubs just jumped the queue and did it lol.
  7. Dodgers swept.
  8. Another one bites the dust. Nice knowing you Baltimore.
  9. Yep, went too early. 😂
  10. Uh oh spaghettios if you're a Braves fan.
  11. I think it would be pretty rough on Conmebol if they would be ruled out of hosting the 2038 World Cup just because they are hosting 3 matches in 2030. But that’s a long bloody time away lol.
  12. Had I just looked at a map of the world, you wouldn’t be in this predicament. Sorry. 😞
  13. Okay, fair point, six host nations is pretty nuts though.
  14. Postseason is a different animal to the regular season as Baltimore are slowly, painfully, finding out.
  15. Ouch! Just saw what has transpired in LA. Kershaw got absolutely smashed.
  16. Yeah, I was incorrect. With 3 hosts from South America, Conmebol will have 3.5 qualification spots. So still 6 or 7 spots at the World Cup as they would have received without the 3 host nations. Apparently Australia are on the same timeline to register their bid. It would be interesting to see if Australia and New Zealand team up. The Women’s World Cup was a fantastic tournament, so it would be nice to see the Men’s World Cup in this part of the world. And yes, so stupid having the tournament in 3 continents. I can understand USA/Canada/Mexico as they are neighbouring countries but different continents seems like an idea only FIFA could drum up.
  17. Pretty wild stuff if Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay host one match each and automatically qualify for the 2030 World Cup as hosts. What would the Conmebol qualification section even look like? Six nations are guaranteed a spot with the new 48 team World Cup. So for 2030, 6 automatically qualify in a 7 team qualification section and with the three hosts, 9 South American nations will be guaranteed to be at the 2030 World Cup. Not to mention a 7th nation could qualify via the playoffs, so all 10 South American nations could be involved at the 2030 World Cup.
  18. Milwaukee would likely be getting ready for a series against the Dodgers if the Cubs got in. This way at least we can laugh at them.
  19. 83 wins is a good result given 75-80 wins seemed to be the consensus in April, however, the final 17 games was a river of horsefeathers that the team couldn’t swim out of. Missing out of the postseason by 1 game is pretty disappointing thanks to the final weeks of the season. Jed Hoyer needs to get to work so 2024 isn’t another lost year late into the piece. Start with that BP because yikes.
  20. Yes baby! 3-3 ball game. I am stuck watching the Brewers feed and all they’ve shown since this rookie came in is his family and friends in attendance. Let’s see if the Brewers feed shows them as much now lol
  21. It can be both. 82-85 wins would be seen as what the Cubs could have achieved this year. But being half a game out of the third wildcard spot, while possibly losing four in a row and could rise 6 in a row to finish the year is a choke. Losing 6 games this month to the D’Backs doesn’t happen.
  22. Good thing that was a no doubter because it would have been infuriating if it hit outfield wall and Candelario was standing on 1st.
  23. This roster needs open heart surgery instead of a Band-Aid. Just painful to watch them going out like this. 3-0 down on the fifth and you just know it’s insurmountable.
  24. Equal third best run differential in the NL… about to miss out on the postseason. That’s just depressing.
  25. Another shattering loss is so disappointing. This team cannot catch any breaks at the worse possible time. 😞
