  1. Bellinger has 5 HR in 13 ABs vs Wheeler. Maybe he can sneak one or two further than the warning track. Up that trade value a little.
  2. Turner wanted to be a Phillie and the Phillies obliged.
  3. Her performance doing the Kansas-UNLV bowl game was, um, something.
  4. Credit where it’s due, the pen did a job today.
  5. While Swanson’s AB was Heywardesque, Happ’s effort did more damage.
  6. Relievers can be weird, sometimes you catch lightning in a bottle. Looking at Vinny’s numbers, he does look like Jed’s type.
  7. At this point, just keep throwing horsefeathers at the wall and hope something sticks.
  8. The fact that there is actually a debate on the topic is pretty remarkable. You’d think the first point, as well as a few other things, would kind of eliminate the second.
  9. Jed’s fourth season and we’re talking draft position and whether or not Jed’s seat is hot.
  10. Yeah, if Jed is safe, there is something seriously wrong with the operation. And Ed Howard will be playing for the Chicago Dogs in 2027.
  11. Quintana finally pitching at Wrigley like the TORP he was advertised as all those years ago.
  12. Insisting on keeping Morel in the cleanup has been a disaster. Maybe consider somebody a little less unlucky. Or less sucky.
  13. PCA, while not a dead pull hitter, he still pulls the ball too much. They need to encourage him to go the other way. Let the speed be a factor.
  14. Pitcher was yet to throw it in the zone- one was called a strike, that wasn’t in the zone, batter swings at ball, flies out weakly to LF. Baserunner gets thrown out going to second. Cubs baseball.
  15. The Cubs, quite frankly, strange, decade long infatuation with pitchers that don’t miss bats shortened the championship window and keeps them chasing mediocrity during the Jed era. It needs to end.
  16. There aren’t many similarities between the two. One they do share, the insistence on playing shorthanded.
  17. O/U on games Cubs play shorthanded before putting Nico on IL: 3.5
  18. How do you say “made of glass” in Japanese?
  19. This team lacks impact talent, especially the position players. Have a few decent pieces, but winning with just a few decent pieces isn’t easy. Not a lot of room for error. Either the hyped system is going to start to supply some, or they’re going to have to start paying for it. Until then, mediocrity.
  20. The way this organization consistently can’t diagnose injuries and plays short handed because of it is insane. It’s been this way for years.
  21. The only things Jed picked up from Theo was misdiagnosing injuries and playing short handed and the love of low ceiling junk ballers.
  22. One might think the Commissioner’s office would intervene. But then you remember the Commissioner’s office is a perpetual shitshow.
  23. It won’t happen, but it would be kind of cool if he pulled a Heyward and was complete horseshit for the length of the contract.
  24. Looks like someone reminded Nick Madrigal that he’s Nick Madrigal.
