Its wonderful feeling, multiple quality prospects. Back before the Theo days, Cubs were lucky to pin their hopes on maybe one prospect every few years. I'm becoming a prospect hugger. Just such a nice feeling to see Cubs getting major props for their system

I dont disagree, just thinking athletes by nature appear to be competitive about everything and possibly would be willing to bet on themselves. Also ?keep in mind Dansby has his ear, lol Myself, I'd generally take the bird in hand. But an athlete?

Cody's deal is very interesting, if he plays well, does he automatically opt out for 25? Or if the Cubs come close to going all the way in 24, is there a chance he returns for another 30mil? Kind of a try and finish the job outlook? I mean 30 mil is nothing to sneeze at. He could probably end up with the same long term deal at age 30 as age 29?

They as well as I share a deep fondness for the Chicago Cubs owner, Tom Ricketts. And I'm sure we both hope Tom can muster one more A list free agent before the 2024 season begins. I'm not only hoping the Cubs win their division but hopefully win enough to have home field advantage. It's been 7 years since the Cubs have won a playoff game. It's time for that trend to vanish.

Someone here earlier suggested a Wicks start with Assad to help finish might be a nice way for this tandem to begin the season. This season has a good feeling right now. I believe Belli just flat out made so much sense. His coming back puts the roster in a more defined position. Kinda like when Hendricks came back last May and made the rotation feel more complete.

After seeing 1908's breakdown of Mervis' swing chart, I see him differently as a prospect now. I cant explain it. But seeing Busch approach vs Mervis today is difference between hot and not.
