Caissie is getting a decent chunk of playing time, would be cool to see him in Chicago sometime this year. Or maybe I'm getting too excited over a few spring games

Eh I'd say coming in as a defensive replacement isnt consistent playing time. Ross was definitely holding him up.

I think Amaya might stay down at AAA to get consistent playing time, and possibly takes over next season when Gomes is a free agent

I think you can maximize Bellingers defensive value at RF, that's why I'd prefer him there.

Personally would have dumped Killian if they wanted to clear a pitcher. But won't lose any sleep over this. -
I think Rosenthal mentioned that Bellinger got some mid tier offers but he preferred to get a high aav one with an opt out. He's really banking on himself.

Regarding the 40 man crunch, maybe they can trade Smyly to one of the teams that were connected to the Boras pitching clients. Rangers or Yankees, would save them 11 mil too. That's not obscene given what some pitchers made this offseason

Wisdom trade makes sense. Would also save them another 3 mil. Making a trade deadline trade possible without hitting the first tax line.

From 300 mil to 80 mil, Hoyer is definitely going to keep this approach as long as he's POBO now, as boring as it is as a fan it worked twice this offseason. I'd say the team is now better talent wise than the team last year with Bellinger back, the prospects that will likely come up and the fact that you now have a manager that isn't a complete moron like Ross. Division favorites.

I'm gonna slit my nuts if Peralta or Dom Smith see a single major league AB with the Cubs. Has Hoyer learned nothing from his crap signings from last year? Either sign the big stars or letting the horsefeathers kids play. Stop giving at bats to scrubs.

Doesn't change the fact. The Cubs will have to hand out a 200 mil plus contract eventually even if hoyer is afraid. Just pathetic the Royals beat them to it.

How do you twist me mentioning the Royals outspending the Cubs into your goofy comment? Like I'm clearly complaining the Cubs aren't signing top tier talent the last couple of offseasons. I swear some of you have Hoyers schlong so deeply embedded in your throats and will try to defend him in the silliest of ways. The Royals have outspent the Cubs and that's a fact.
