  1. Do they even exist there anymore? The place that had them is closed. There were a couple variations too weren't there? Like a sausage patty and brown gravy maybe? And I think they're just referred to as a horseshoe most everywhere else. I think a horseshoe is ham & melted cheese on French toast and that is a Springfield thing. The place in Champaign that had the haystack was Home Stretch Diner or something like that. I used to get them at the Whitehorse Inn but that place is gone. a horseshoe is a springfield thing but it's not that disgusting thing you described. it's this disgusting(ly awesome) thing: toast with a hamburger patty on top covered with fries covered with cheese sauce. almost any place you go will offer it with a variety of meat options. i had a really good buffalo chicken one once.
  2. hanley isn't even eligible in an nl-only league that trade would be bad for me
  3. we had the draft yesterday but if you want to make a team out of waiver dudes that's fine with me
  4. Spoilered for dong. i used the switcheroo extension for chrome and now this REALLY IS MY BANNER ON NSBB

  6. ssr, come cry about how your bracket would be perfect if michigan state had won
  7. how on earth have i never seen this before
  8. do it again but make him wear makeup and a wig and a fake nose and do a swedish accent
  9. i would also like to add that while the cubs were a 90 pythag win team last year, they were at 96-66 in third order record.
  10. What do they call them now? I believe the preferred nomenclature is sobriety challenged. I prefer drunks or boozehounds i definitely think of boozehounds as distinct from winos. winos are saaaaaad and have serious problems. boozehounds just really enjoy booze (and may well be on track to become winos, but they aren't there yet).
  11. "Not sure what's going on but Joe Maddon has released the lineups for tonight's game" "Not sure what's going on but the Cubs have just signed Jason Heyward" "Not sure whats going on but the Cubs win 5-2" Yeah, that's pretty great. "not sure what's going on but brett jackson is playing right field on opening day and i guess he's black and 6'5" now"
  12. the bottom right one would be good if it said dongs and the bear was getting hit in the face by the dong
  13. i was wondering why orioles fans were so worked up about little ol dexter fowler and then i remembered that he probably doesn't project to be like the 11th best player on their team like he does on ours
  14. he told the team earlier that day that he was dead
  15. Well damn...feeling kinda crummy for Cogs now. Apparently I've grown a sentimental attraction and was just thinking again about how [expletive] Coghlan must feel. And then I see this. To go to the A's on top of it all...Yeesh. it's not like oakland is going to make him eat a california cheeseburger. he'll be fine.
  16. this is great fun but not even 20% of the excitement of heyward for me
  17. a liiiiitle worried about the lack of regular plate appearances for soler being the death of him. between being the short side of a platoon and his lack of positional flexibility, i hope he doesn't just get completely squeezed out.

  19. i think we should probably put david next to a giant magnet for a while as punishment for being so wrong about fowler all winter
  20. everybody knows those next albert pujols comparisons never panned out what this news story presupposes is . . . maybe they didn't?
  21. Maybe I'm the only one, but I swear Rogers has gone from the worst beat guy I've ever seen, to where his stuff is mostly readable now. he's still a dumbass and a lousy writer, but he is pretty connected and well-informed for the most part these days.
