  1. neely, give me your password, i need to do something for you
  2. That looks incredibly reasonable. Makes it even more ridiculous that so many groups are complaining. It's going to be awesome when Ricketts buys all the rooftops after 2023. less so when we have to lower the budget by 30 million every year thereafter in order to pay for them.
  3. excellent post. the question that follows, then, is how much do we care about ian stewart at this point? how do we weight the value in seeing if ian can actually get something going vs getting more info on just how good valbuena's defense is (and whether he could maybe hit a bit more and really become something great)? is it wise to just let them split time? if so, how much rope do we give stewart since he's not just stealing time from another worthless non-entity?
  4. gameday makes it look like soriano just had the worst at bat of all time and swung at three fastballs that almost hit him. please confirm this is not true.
  5. welcome to game thread i am treymon cubs won the game yesterday but do not expect the same today cubs will lose the game potential game highlights include samardzija pitching really well for the first four innings and leftover nachos fixins potential game thread highlights include hilarious predictions about bad things happening to the cubs and if mojo does the michael shannon picture thing again
  6. welcome to game thread i am treymon cubs are bad they will lose the game potential game highlights include rizzo maybe getting a hit again and also if you make nachos during the game
  7. dusty baker was much worse. as were lots of other things. i can think of lots of things in cubs history that were better, though. one time at a game a guy gave me some of his nachos he didn't want.
  8. get out of it now, if we're doing this, i want 20 innings
  9. i bet sappelt would have had that if his hat had a properly curved brim
  10. put the manager approval poll up again, i'm ready to vote
  11. add me as well i want to start a gam thread
  12. this seems like a strange way to assemble a roster.
  13. There has to be a trade. This makes no sense at all.
  14. too many good things happening, becoming extremely skeptical that we're going to get this game in
  15. zips has ransom as projected at -0.2 war. are we really having this conversation because they projected him there instead of 0.0? he is exactly a replacement level player and we got him for zero. nothing to see here.
  16. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/why.gif well played
  17. the fans deserve at least one player who has been in a taco bell commercial, stop supporting crickets* *autocorrect but also my new nickname for ownership
  18. if the cubs believe they are going to sell out the bleachers most every game, they should definitely allow season ticket holders to transfer those early entry rights, as this will give season ticket holders an advantage over non-season ticket holders when re-selling their tickets. keeping season ticket holders happy is a good thing. if the cubs do not believe they are going to sell out the bleachers most every game, they should not allow season ticket holders to transfer early entry rights, as doing so would make those tickets more appealing than simply buying directly from the cubs. the added value of selling more tickets easily trumps whatever marginal value you'd get from making season ticket holders slight happier.
  19. i don't understand the inclination to say the cubs' record "should" be whatever it would be if the bullpen had given up zero runs this year. no one has a perfect bullpen. what would the cubs' record be if the offense score 20 runs a game? a lot better, i'll bet.
  20. Clearly. Rondon, Bowden, and Russell have been fine. Marmol has been fine once demoted. Camp has been fine except when asked to throw 2 innings, and Fujikawa has been fine when he was healthy. Takahashi has been the weak link, but he's already the last man in the pen. And even with all that, the bullpen has thrown less than 35 innings combined. It's been 12 games. BUT I WANT TO DRAW CONCLUSIONS NOWWWWWWWW
  21. I feel really confident that camp has no issues here.
  22. i was really hoping he was going to keep going with the chopper thing and just make up even more ridiculous facts that she would believe http://cdn.uproxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/NewsRadioComplete2.jpg "Guzziza Nils Doofus!" why can't i place this? i thought i knew every newsradio joke yessssssssssssss
