  1. his split of 46.74 was actually pretty good... if you'd told me that he would split high 46 i would've said no way he gets caught. i literally cannot believe that lezak swam that fast. i don't know if it was the most exciting race i've ever seen - mostly because i wasn't comfortable with how close bousquet went in against cullen-jones, and then when bousquet opened up half a body length (he split 46.63 - that's nuts for a #3 in a relay) lead i had pretty much given up on the u.s. only in the last 10 meters did i think they had a chance. that's precisely why it was so excited.
  2. yeah, he shouldn't talk about smashing anything anymore. maybe slashing his wrists.
  3. i almost called it, though. but the americans won by a touch this time.
  4. especially against the fastest swimmer on earth.
  5. is lezak now the favorite in the 100m free?
  6. dear god. i cannot believe what i just saw! bernard makes those comments then chokes it away.
  7. yeah, bernard is good.
  8. cannot let bernard have a lead here.
  9. phelps did keep close to sullivan, there.
  10. here's where we watch the french beat the americans by a touch, because the americans haven't ever out-touched anyone since i've been watching the olympics, most notably hall against popov in 96. dammit.
  11. dude. no one but an american gets overtaken like that over the last 50m. they seem snakebitten, no golds for either the males or the females in a race that phelps isn't a part of. i don't see it happening the rest of the way.
  12. i couldn't stand gary hall. basically all he did was sit around and get high for 3 years, then start training for a few months, get in the pool and make the olympic team. actually i don't like sprinters in general - they're often cocky meatheads who don't work half as hard as everyone else in the pool - but hall was even worse than most. this doesn't sound so much like player loving as it does the exact opposite.
  13. american swimmers not named phelps kind of struggling. where b da golds, yo?
  14. shut him down for the rest of the year, just be sure.
  15. the ump was feeling that one. he knows he blew it, but whatever.
  16. we're never going to score a bunch of runs again, are we?
  17. i don't have a good feeling about this game at all.
  18. easy groundball to izturis. oh well, at least it wasn't another home run.
  19. we're not hitting and haven't hit all series. i hope we hit soon, because we look bad.
  20. i swear, we are the slowest team going down the line that i've ever seen. an opposing team can have a birthday party for their pet monkey and then throw us out.
  21. then why is he even playing anymore, then? he's on the road already. if being with his family is such a high priority to him, he should just retire. Maybe he's decided getting paid millions of dollars is worth being away from his family for 80 or so days a year, but not 200 days. wait, is this early august or early april?
  22. the cubs have to lead the league in long drives that would be home runs for players of other teams.
  23. then why is he even playing anymore, then? he's on the road already. if being with his family is such a high priority to him, he should just retire.
  24. i miss hall jr. already. not his inability to beat popov and then vandenhoogenhoogenloogen but his trash talk.
