  1. egad, toews blows some point blank attempts. but we're playing awesome right now.
  2. the canadian national anthem kicks so much ass. it gives me goosebumps every time.
  3. Otherwise he'll have to go to West Virginia? west virginia would be more likely to find a way to get him through, ala derrick rose and memphis.
  4. like i said, he's got the act to pass first.anyways, last week i would have told you marquette, but he said some weird things about them after MM. i think that eliminates irvin's first choice, so now he has to sell the heck out of west virginia in order to make any money, because neither illinois nor depaul pays players, handlers or aau coaches. if it were up to shaw, he'd just be a kid and go and be with his friends at illinois or depaul. i think illinois leads for him now after the strange weekend in milwaukee, to be honest.
  5. shaw's got to pass the act first.
  6. i would even argue that campbell isn't overpaid. he got exactly the amount of money it took to get him out of san jose. it's not like we could have paid him far less and still signed him, we couldn't have given him less at all. it comes down to would you rather have him on the roster or would you rather not and have to erase the memory of winning a cup from your brain? he's highly paid but i would argue that he got fair market value for his services and we've gotten a lot of production out of him.
  7. i agree with clutch assessment, to a degree. when good qb's throw interceptions at inopportune times, they aren't crapping the bed, they're just trying to do too much. favre, for example. they aren't tightening up or choking, they don't have time to choke, on every play they're facing large men trying to rip their heads off.
  8. dwayne bowe was the right choice this week.
  9. i don't know what you're saying but i'm saying sacks off of the secondary blitzes are cutler's fault.
  10. turco stopped 7 shots in overtime, that's both amazing and concerning.
  11. pretty!!!! it's so pretty!!!!
  12. a point out of nowhere
  13. he is pure magic
  14. hossa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I totally agree. I mean, Cutler should snap the ball to himself, take his 7 step back-step, pick up the blitz with a solid block, chip the DE coming on the inside stunt, read the secondary, make the correct route adjustment and get proper body position on the DB, make the throw to the correct spot, catch the ball, and out run of the secondary for a 72 yrd pitch-and-catch. Its really that easy. no, but not seeing lawyer freaking milloy of all people hiding behind the DE and assigning a running back or tight end to cover him up makes you wonder about his ability to adjust to defenses.
  16. meatball. "the situation" doesn't care about sports at all i don't think.
  17. junior seau roided out and tried to kill himself early this morning.
  18. one of the problems is that martz doesn't employ the use of audibles and tice's protection schemes are so complicated that it's hard to change protections without altering the entire structure of the play and eliminating your safety valves entirely.
  19. we never beat brian cardinal so i don't really feel for you guys. i just liked watching hummel play against teams that weren't the illini.
  20. money or cap space? i believe both. leddy's cap hit is like 69,000 at rockford and over a million with the big club. obviously, if he's at rockford, he has no hit to the team, but if he's at rockford, they also only have to pay him 69,000 is what i mean. it will be a weird proration, that's for sure.
  21. i want illinois to be the best in the big ten, but i also want competition. shoving it down purdue's throat with hummel on the court would have been satisfying.
  22. I was gonna mention during the game that at least 3 times every game I see a cutler pass sail into the middle of the field 10 yards from anyone and Knox is always somewhere in the shot looking confused. after one of them, they showed cutler, who clearly said "what happened? what happened?" and it's not that he's a bad route-runner, he's actually a pretty good route-runner, it's just that he's a complete idiot and doesn't know which route to run.
  23. it's most certainly money. leddy makes a lot more in chicago than at rockford.
  24. and the amount of sacks on secondary blitzes was all on cutler.
