i think your statements about his successes are a bit misleading, he wasn't working for any particular team for almost half that time. the rest of it was spent with teams without payrolls. but anyway, to address the question, the man has an organizational philosophy that i agree with. i have no doubt that as GM, he would be a kind of dictator of team policy, who will employ a number of baseball outsiders and actually pay attention to them. in short, i like his organization philosophy because he has one, because bringing him in would feel like we are actually headed in a direction and not all directions at once. everyone would be on the same page, and that's what i'm looking for. i can deal with non-playoff seasons if i feel that the team has a plan for the future, and tangible goals. what we have now is no plan. plus he's billy beane's mentor.
