  1. I have 187 points for a rank of 216. Texascub now has 172 for a rank of 303. I am the all-important June 8th leader!
  2. add up the number of chances given to guzman, hill, and ryu. take that number times rusch's era. take that number times rusch's weight...that's how many chances he gets. infinity?
  3. He saw a lefty with a high K rate who ended up beating the stuffing out of the league in 2004. I don't blame Hendry for rolling the dice here, but they've clearly come up snake-eyes. While I'll admit it was a decent year by pitching standards, Rusch in no way beat the stuffing out of the league in 2004.
  4. Did anyone bother cutting and pasting my "who didn't see that one coming?" post from before? I haven't checked.
  5. So a country would rather win the WC in soccer than the Olympic gold medal in soccer. (Serious Question) Oh, by miles. The Olympics is like the Arena Bowl compared to the World Cup's Super Bowl, times 100,000 The Olympic games don't even count as an international team appearance (aka cap) for your country.
  6. It's ok if you're not a soccer fan. It's the biggest sporting event in the world, bar none. The olympics aren't even close. That alone is something to get excited about.
  7. There's also an article up about Arena not buying all the Czech injury news. Also, I can't figure out how to insert a picture in my sig. It's driving me nuts. yeah, he seems to be ok. But if he's not 100%, it's a big boost. he'll drive the majority of the Czech attack. If Mastroeni starts, Nedved is going to be red carded by the end of the game. Between Mastro's tenacity and Nedved's habitual retaliation, we should be in good shape. Ditto for Totti, now that I think about it. I would've said the same thing about Totti about 6 months ago, but he seemed to mellow out after his kid was born. Of course, it might've also been the winning streak Roma was on at the time. I guess we'll see.

It's driving me nuts. same way you put a picture in a post. I don't think I've ever done that, either . Go to profile, profile tab, signature tab, put in the url for the image you want, highlight it, and hit the IMG button. Wash hands afterward.

  11. The good news for the US just keeps on coming: http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jun8k.html Not having to face Nedved would be a GIGANTIC boost.
  12. Ah, the silver lining. And she did beat the throw and eventually score, so she's got that going for her too. which is nice.

  14. He's shown me plenty in the minors, and hasn't enough opportunity in the Majors to show me much of anything. I don't know if Hill is going to be great, good or even average, but I'd like to see him get more of a chance. It's sink or swim time. I agree with you. Don't forget he's 28 years old. He's as old as Kerry Wood for god sakes! Or he's 26. he vactioned in the Dominican Republic.
  15. It is bird flu season... Although new cars can have issues. Maybe the battery goes flat and won't take a jump, for example. Maybe it got towed because I don't have my new LTS sticker yet.
  16. In case I'm not here tonight when I usually say this, here are some preemptive "who didn't see that one coming"s for the Reds' homers off of Glendon. 1. who didn't see that one coming? 2. who didn't see that one coming? 3. who didn't see that one coming? 4. who didn't see that one coming? 5. who didn't see that one coming? 6. who didn't see that one coming? 7. who didn't see that one coming? 8. who didn't see that one coming? 9. who didn't see that one coming? Feel free to cut and paste as necessary.
  17. I''m thinking just US spoilers. And considering that I'm goign to come up with reasons to leave work (doctor's appointment lined up for Monday) and then go to Chili's to watch the games anyway, I'm probably not actually going to avoid results too much. I really wish I had a legit reason to be watching live at home Monday. Schedule a "doctor's appointment". I'm thinking the game against Ghana may coincide with car trouble. Nothing like scheduled car trouble. That one will involve either calling in without warning on the day of the game or complaining loudly on the day before that my car is having difficulties. However, I just bought a car last week, so this may not work. Maybe just a good old-fashioned illness?

  19. Remember to set your lineups. Hooray for setting my lineup for day 1. My lineup for day 1 consists of....Michael Ballack. And he's injured.

  21. Back to the seriousness. The problem with what i presented above is that HGH turns over rapidly. A test on the protein would only detect very recently injected hGH. If you look at downstream expression markers (i.e. RNA levels of hGH targets), you can get a better look at whether someone's been juicing. The problem is whether a high downstream marker is an acceptable smoking gun for the upstream hGH doping.
  22. I thought that was a sweet last-minute costume. Of course, that coat I took from lab was never seen again.... Also, that's my fake id I'm wearing as a badge there.
  23. they also seem to be acting like they just heard of HGH today. The problem with HGH is that the body produces it naturally and at different levels in different people and at different levels at different times of day. Testing for it is pretty complicated. artificially produced HGH (i.e. the HGH that is prescribed) can be detected independently from natural HGH due to different modifications added to the amino acids during the production process. Sounds made up. Sounds like I'm actually a scientist. Prove it. Without pictures, you got nothin'. http://www.erin-and-seth.com/senior%20year/photos/images/58_jpg.jpg
  24. WADA is sponsoring several labs, including one at UCLA, to come up with better HGH tests.

Ah, I was hoping you would chime in. so why can't they test for it? Depends who you ask as to whether they can test for it or not. The situation i'm presenting above is what WADA says their test does. However, their test hasn't actually caught anyone yet (it's only been in use since the Athens games, I think).
