I think it was Todd Walker in Houston who was a double away from a cycle and pulled a ball just foul down the right field line only to hit another homer on the next pitch.

Also, Weber's deal is extremely flexible. If you don't need the $8m, you move it to the LTIR and it no longer counts against the cap. If you sign a guy for $8m cap hit and then need to move him (see Mrazek), it's a lot harder to move. Plus, while Weber's cap hit is $8m, his actual salary is like $1m according to spotrac.

It's also not the last minute to sign a deal. It's when they submit their offers that would be decided between by an arbitrator. They can still sign a deal or an extension at any time. -
Mrazek never had any trade value. His entire value was being a okay goaltender for a bad team.
