    I mean man I love the guy and he's still having a great season but why is it so sacrilegious to acknowledge the fact that his numbers say he has performed extremely poorly this season with RISP. You guys can say bad babip and small sample stuff but he's hit 5 HR all year with runners on base. I think it's fine to admit that that is not characteristic of Kris Bryant and it is disappointing. The general theory is that players' numbers should play across all situations but his 780 OPS is not what we all expect from KB. I'm going baseless meatball here but his swing looks a lot more 2015 than 2016 and he cannot catch up to the inside fastball with the regularity he did last season. He's fouling off a ton of pitches he was crushing last year. There's a significant drop in his LD (6%) and hard contact (9%) rates and he is not catching the barrel often. His pull% is also slightly down and his center% is slightly up. A lot of those 380 foot flies from last year are dying in CF gloves. Not sure how to look it up but I'm curious about his batted ball distance compared to last year.

    I know but think of how many runs we could have if we didn't get shut down by the Magnifico Gonzalezes and Cy Blechs of the world So are we only scoring these runs on the good pitchers? I swear that's not the narrative I heard last week. I haven't been a part of that narrative, so I don't really know But I do know that since the break we had those 2 games and the dumb one against Suter and the one against Roark. That's half of our losses in the second half.

    We've scored more runs than any non-Rockies team in the NL since the break. I know but think of how many runs we could have if we didn't get shut down by the Magnifico Gonzalezes and Cy Blechs of the world

    Yeah, I was talking more about walk rate rather than RISP hitting. I feel like we haven't worked pitchers much and haven't "accepted" walks for like two months, but I also know I'm talking out of my ass and the numbers wouldn't show that. According to FanGraphs the Cubs BB% last year was 10.4% and this year it is 9.8% Baez playing more does this by himself probably ha And I should probably take my LOA as Wilson let's in another run. He's just not getting whiffs. This game has been awful.

    in my mind, yes. in reality? no idea. I just remember thinking they were obsessed with sac bunts, and in one year at least they led the league by a wide margin. Led the division both of his full seasons, 2nd one had 34 more than the next closest team. Holy horsefeathers, horsefeathering ridiculous.

    He didn't get his contact up over 60% until 4/26. Since then he's been at 74%. Since he adjusted his leg kick he's become something like prime Cabrera with a much closer to Iowa Willy K rate of 17%. It doesn't make a lot of sense for this guy to post K rates of 24ish after being at 11 and 13 his last 2 years in the minors, so I'm thinking he will settle in below 20 and thrive in this juiced era or whatever you wanna call it. He's gonna find a lot of barrels.
