  1. Weren't Schwarber's numbers at that point better than them both?
  2. Who are you talking about here? caratini (as opposed to contreras) Yeah I was talking about Caratini. I've just really soured on Contreras behind the dish. I don't see much progress but his bat will certainly play anywhere.
  3. That's really all that matters. Just need Theo to force Joe to play his best 8 every game. That's, IMO, where the sense of urgency is lacking. We can't be putting Russell, Almora, Descalso in the same lineup, ever. We're trying to win a dogged division, Joe. horsefeathers hurt feelings. Play your best guys. I want them to trade Schwarber and Almora+ for an everyday CF, and use Bryant and Heyward in the corners so that Bote can get more consistent playing time. Heyward needs to play RF exclusively. Hes still amazing there. If we would ever cut Russell loose and let Bote have 2B that would be great as well. That way Willy can have LF and Vic can man C. I know most of you guys think he's a shitty hitter but his plate discipline and batted ball numbers are trending in the direction that suggests otherwise. And hes just a more natural defender, only without the arm... but how much does that really help when the rest of your defense is so mediocre.
  4. Awesome news. Tyson has had a tremendous season and earned that promotion.
  5. Yeah Kimbrel is just not missing bats and that's what we need him to do
  6. How many whiffs has Kimbrel gotten in his 3 appearances?
  7. Caratini has an average EV of 92 and the 2nd best zswing-oswing on the team. Obvious caveat of a smaller sample than the everyday guys but those are encouraging metrics. He just needs to work on raising that LA, quite a bit. But hes a very solid hitter.
  8. What’s this guys story? I say BN or Cubs Prospect guy tweet he didn’t top like 86 tonight. Does he have Hendricks like command? Is his delivery incredibly deceptive? Sorry. I hope I didn't come off as having seen his outing. I was just going off of the box score. 70 pitches, 55 strikes, no 3-ball counts... that's good stuff to me. Its true though, from what I've read, he doesn't light up the gun. But hes Mr. Irrelevant, last pick of the draft. That's a hell of a story as it is. The odds are stacked against him but he keeps defying them. I really want to see him succeed in the Majors.
  9. Passantino was nasty again for Iowa
  10. It’s such an easy move to make to cut him. Every day he sucks it’s clear he’s unlikely to become a viable starter and no one is going to criticize you for cutting a domestic abuser if he signs elsewhere and puts it together. I'd rather take a chance with Dixon Machado TBH. He can fill that utility IF role. Graded well in every MLB stint also. I think this is mostly on Joe. He's really convinced we need Russell up the middle, from the quotes I've read.
  11. Why are we so horsefeathering against the IBB. Rather save those pitches and just point him to the base.
  12. A guy whose OBP and SLG would look merely decent as a batting average should not be playing on a MLB team, let alone one that has mild postseason aspirations.
  13. Oh horsefeathers. What a horsefeathers miserable team right now. 2 bombs allowed by Kimbrel.
  14. Great ab by Rizzo. Stare at 2 fastballs in the middle of the zone and hack at the one a foot above it.
  15. If he is a DH he needs to post 400+ wOBA
  16. I can’t remember them pitching out a single time this year. Yeah it's just something they don't do. They knew he was gonna steal, had a mound meeting about it, and did absolutely nothing to prevent it.
  17. Good signing. Solid overall game. When him and Carter share the floor they'll be pretty stout in the paint.
  18. The Cubs are pretty stupid for letting Puig steal those runs so easily. They knew it was coming, why not try a pitchout.
