  1. Who is his top 5 and honorable mention? Who will realistically still be a catcher at the end of this decade anyway? LOL I mean Posey/Wieters/McCann are my 3 guesses here. Mauer will be 1B/DH by then. Soto will be like 38 by the end of the decade.
  2. LOL at least Milledge made it to the majors. Harvey is still playing at AA with the Rockies minor league system.
  3. as bob sanders pointed out, there's a big area between the quarterback's head and his knees. peppers wasn't crawling on the ground. he could have lowered his head and hit rodgers with his shoulder rather than launching his head at rodgers' helmet. I think if you would watch that play again... it looks like Rodgers was finshing his throwing motion and his left shoulder dropped down enough that Peppers hit his helmet instead... That's what it looks like to me after watching it a couple times. I think Peppers was going for his shoulder area, but he was just a little late. I don't think it would've mattered if he lowered his head as he would've still hit Rodgers in the helmet (most likely). It's still a flag regardless. Only way it wouldn't been a flag is if he leads with his shoulder first. DEs won't ever stop tackling high because they also try to "whack" their arms in hope to knock the ball loose and that's hard to do when you're trying to tackle at the waist/stomach area.
  4. Randy Johnson to the Astros comes to mind. Seattle got Freddy Garcia/Carlos Guillen/John Halama for Randy Johnson...
  5. That's just awesome. Pujols really is done giving Cardinals any more favors/discounts (if he sticks to his words-done talking contracts when ST starts if they don't agree on one/veto any trade)... Can you imagine what kind of package Cardinals could get by trading Pujols?? Pujols knows that and won't let that happen. It's music to my ears.
  6. Think Angelo can manage two starting caliber O-lineman with his trade 1st and 2nd round picks for mutliple 3rd rounders MO? No need to... I said it earlier in the thread (actually it might be in 2011 NFL Draft thread where I said, if it's there, I'll post it here...) that if Angelo trade his 1st round pick, he can get a 2nd and 3rd round pick for it so he would have 2 picks in the 2nd and 3rd round each. He might have to throw in a 6th round pick or something to make the numbers works maybe... *EDIT* It was in the 2011 NFL Draft Thread pg. 18. here you go... "Just curious from everyone... Would you be ok if Angelo traded his 1st round pick for say the 46th and 78th pick (both are 14th pick in the 2nd and 3rd round). So Bears wouldn't have a 1st round pick, but they would have the 14th/29th picks in the 2nd and 3rd round though? I would be fine with that IMO considering you would get an extra pick. 29th pick is worth 640 points so any 2 combo picks equal to 640 would work. 38th (6th pick of the 2nd round) and 95th (31st pick of the 3rd round) would work as well. If you want pick 33-37, you would have to have a 4th round pick instead of a 3rd... I'm not sure on exactly how deep this draft is in terms of the Bears needs are... I've been reading a few mocks and articles about the prospects, but still don't know much. That's why I'm asking about this. If someone already said something about this, let me know and I'll go back in the thread and find it... Just wondering if you guys think it would be worth trading down for the 1st round pick." *EDIT* You can also trade that 1st round pick for 3 3rd round picks like 66th/74th/86th pick. The questions are: Can you find a team who is willing to trade like that? Is there any teams that have picks where it can work out nicely? Would you have to throw in a 5th-7th round pick (maybe even 4th round) to make it work? Is it worth trading down this year to gain more picks?
  7. the guard play was actually pretty good at the end of the year. this team needs a competent LT. it needs mankins to replace Garza I was more thinking of Mankins being LG, moved Williams to RG, and drafting a LT in the 1st round (if there's one left when Bears pick). Or you could just draft a LT, leave Williams at LG, and sign an above average RG (probably would cost less due to being lesser known than Mankins)... Is there any good LTs this year in the FA???
  8. I've been hearing that Mankins, while is open to returning to the Patriots, is most likely a FA unless Pats will franchise him and try to trade him. What do you guys think he'll be worth in the FA? Is he gonna get like 10 mil/yr? Is he worth trading for if he is franchised by the Pats (for like the 2nd and 3rd round picks for example)??? Just curious if Bears should go after him even though he would probably be the only big signing (most likely wouldn't be able to sign a big WR either), but he would upgrade our OL BIG time and move to Chris Williams to RG I imagine (Williams/Webb on the right side would be an interesting combo IMO)... If you got Mankins, you can focus on OT more than a OG and other needs at the draft. Or would you rather sign a lesser known, but an upgrade anyway OG or OT and sign a James Jones type WR then focus on CB/FS/OL (not in any order) in the draft??? So one option would be signing one stud at a need position (OL/WR/FS/CB) and try to get the rest in the draft although might not get all of them? Or sign a couple quality starters (ranging from average to good, but not a stud) and focus only on the needs or maybe just best available player in the draft (regardless of positions beside like QB and LB)????

  10. Really... Nationally? I don't remember that. I remember Jim Brown calling him out and some other stuff, but it was no one near like Cutler's though...
  11. Hahaha he didn't play cuz he was still hurt from the same injury somehow??? Then he injured his ankle the opening week of the season.
  12. Edit: I guess it was his groin and it was 2008. But still, point remains the same. I'm pretty sure he caught a LOT of flak in the San Diego area (i know some Chargers fans and they were like everyone saying "he got no heart and etc...")... It's just never went national like Cutler did.
  13. Isn't Brett Jackson a better fielder than Colvin? Just wondering why Colvin is gonna stick at RF in 2014... They must think he's gonna be a very productive player considering that's all Cubs players in the OF (no FAs)...
  14. Also I think another thing (after thinking about it awhile, I was one of those "stupid" people about Cutler... but I say like 95% of it was my emotion running at an all time cuz one of my Chicago teams was close to getting in the WS/SB/SC/NBA Finals and it just took over)... Maybe I was hearing things, but didn't the Bears listed him as questionable for the game after he was benched??? I could've swore I hear the sideline reporter saying that he was questionable. I think that screwed a lot of people up as far as he should've been playing if he's "only" questionable... Were they saying questionable til he was done working out for the Coaches/Trainers/etc...??? Or did they really thought that he might've be able to come back in? I'm just curious cuz when he was benched, I figured they would've told the sideline reporter or whoever that Cutler is OUT for the game due to his knee. That would've cleared it up a little bit better. After been thinking about it all night and this morning, there were a lot of things that could've been done differently...
  15. Yeah I saw that, but then it seems like when he was on the sideline that the limp was either most or all gone. Thanks for the example guys. So walking around like Cutler was wouldn't hurt his knee any more cuz he's not putting any more pressure on the knee to hurt it?
  16. I already said I would shut up about it since what you said there would be correct on the last page. I was thinking that knee sprain wasn't so vague and torn ligaments was a different thing instead of where if they don't know what it is, they call it a knee sprain and after MRI, can be a torn ligaments. Do I have a question though (someone can help me out here)? Say you got a torn knee ligament... Is it possible to be walking around like Cutler was and not have a noticeable limp? Cuz it seems to me that he didn't limp at all when they show him walking. Just curious... (most people I knew who had torn ACLs either were on crutches or in wheelchairs.. they couldn't put any pressure on that leg)
  17. Haha... Did any Bears player played well in the 1st half though? That 1st half was quite brutal to watch as a Bears fan.
  18. yes. Haha alright then. I'll shut up about that. I usually hear someone say "knee sprains" or "torn ligaments" like it's 2 different things.
  19. I think so as well... Angelo does need to draft several OLs in the draft though. Cutler can be very good if he has a good OL in front of him. Would be nice to get a big possession #1 WR though, but it's not as needed as the OL. That and if he didn't have to learn a new offense every year either. If everything stays the same next year, I can't see the Bears having the same record (had a lot of luck/breaks this year that went their way), but can't see them being worse than 8-8 though.
  20. I meant it like it's not a tear ligament. That's why I said or somewhat minor knee injury. That's what I think of when I hear the word "a sprained knee or knee sprain". Torn ACL/PCL/MCL of any kind (whether it's a small tear or totally torn) is usually a major injury. MCL or PCL isn't as bad as ACL.
  21. What? I haven't done anything wrong. Why you giving me a warning and gooney gonna end me? If Cutler really did have a torn ACL, then fine I can see that. I just hope it's not a knee sprain or somewhat minor knee injury. Does anybody for a fact yet that it was indeed a torn ACL or what? I mean he should've went to the hospital then instead of standing/walking/sitting on the bench with his head down and looking like he's pouting... It just shows him in a negative way for everyone to see.
  22. Yeah coaches make the decisions, but are you gonna tell that if it was Big Ben/Farve/Brady/Manning/Brees instead of Cutler that they would've stayed on the sideline and not play when they can walk around or ride the bike??? Heck even Philip Rivers or McNabb or Vick... I bet you not one of them would've sat down that 2nd half unless they were in a wheelchair or stretcher... you're not going to ruin your franchise for one game, no matter how big the game is. Really? If Cutler get badly injured, it wouldn't ruin the franchise... They done quite well for not having an elite QB in their entire history (you can debate if Sid Luckman was one or not-it's not the point) so far. Man you never know the next time Bears will get back to the NFC Championship again. Cutler may never ever get back there again. This is the reason why players this game and make MILLIONS... for a chance to get into the Super Bowl. It's why guys like Urlacher played ALL OUT after Cutler went to the bench and Forte trying to carry the offense.
  23. Yeah coaches make the decisions, but are you gonna tell that if it was Big Ben/Farve/Brady/Manning/Brees instead of Cutler that they would've stayed on the sideline and not play when they can walk around or ride the bike??? 24. You mean when there was like 30 seconds left and Rodgers was kneeing it down? He was getting checked out then?
  25. If the decision on Cutler was made by the medical staff, why did they let him go out again in the second half? you mean they couldnt decide after his 1st series in the 2nd half?? Does anybody know if Cutler even went to the locker room in the 2nd half at all? I mean don't stadiums have like X-Ray or MRI machine there and whatnot?
