Okay, I want to get some opinions because this seems kind of risky. In my buggest money league,I'm thinking about trading away all my starting pitchers for offensive upgrades and a couple extra closers. Here's why- the commish is kind of an idiot and made walks a category for pitching, which is stupid since walks are already taken into account in whip. So the 12 overall categories are HR/R/RBI/SB/BB/AVG - W/SV/K/BB/ERA/WHIP. Before the draft even happened I complained, since you're almost at a disadvantage by having more starting pitchers. No dice, he decided to keep it. So we're a few months in and I'm in 4th place (12 total teams), but I've been ravaged by serious injuries and my offense is struggling. So, if I trade all my starters for offensive upgrades and a couple extra closers (every closer is taken in this league), I'd be sacrificing wins and strikeouts, but I'd pretty much automatically win in BB and saves, and I'd have the edge in ERA and WHIP since my closers are all solid. Basically I'd be going for a 4-2 win in pitching every week and then hope to do serious damage in the offensive categories with a stacked offense. The minimum IP is set at 9, so if I get 2 more closers to go with my 3, I shouldn't have a problem meeting that requirement each week. If the weekend rolls around and it looks like I won't qualify, I'll just pick somebody up who has a favorable matchup to make a spot start. Good or bad idea?
