  1. I do have you on ignore, but cookies are disabled on this computer so when I come to this site without logging in I still see your posts. I'm not arguing this time, I just was pointing out how this thread was about to turn into a Soriano debate as soon as you got here. You don't even annoy me anymore, you're kind of like a cartoon character. I have literally never seen a single post from you that didn't involve Soriano leading off, and that's saying something since the threads you bring him up in have nothing whatsoever to do with him. "Hey, there's a thread about Josh Hamilton...I'm going to go in that thread and subtly make a reference to how Soriano shouldn't be leading off. Then I'll go to that thread about video games and talk about it there too. It's totally relevant."
  2. I think Hendry should be concentrating on bullpen help. Even though I think Marmol will eventually be okay, it's at the point where you've gotta start planning for the worst. If Carlos doesn't turn it around and Wood gets injured, our bullpen suddenly looks horrific. I know midseason trades for relievers don't usually end up working, but a guy like Brian Fuentes seems like a relatively safe bet and he would fit perfectly into the pen. I mean, get an effective Fuentes on this team with a good Marmol and a healthy Kerry Wood and I don't really see any flaws with this team.
  3. Here we go......
  4. Lou will probably talk Clint Hurdle into using him for 3 innings.
  5. I'm very serious. Ted Lilly has not impressed me very much. Yes, he has 9 wins but the guy is a junk balling lefty who has given up an alarming number of homers. Seriously, why stop here? Given Hardens injury history, another starter would not hurt. His name is Rich Hill. :pig: Umm, no thanks. You would trust Hill in a playoff game? Yikes! We're talking about number 4 or 5 starters here. How many teams have a number 4 starter that is better than Lilly? Very few. If you take out Lilly's first 4 starts this season (when his velocity was still down) he has a 3.82 ERA and is striking out nearly one an inning.
  6. Me too. Burrell already has 45 XBH and 69 walks this season.
  7. Yeah, I'm sure Corey Hart and his wife are reading this thread right now and are upset.
  8. All I can say is he mixes speeds ridiculously well. The fastball was between 91-98 (gun probably was a little hot) which made the changeup even more devastating. The Giants were completely guessing all day long. I know it was the Giants, but his stuff is ungodly.
  9. I'm glad that the organization seems to understand that having Harden healthy for the playoffs should far and away be the number one priority. Having him during the regular season will be nice, but he's the kind of guy who sohuld be a BIG difference maker come october, especially in the short series. The only two teams in the league right now that have a 1-2 top of the rotation that matches up with Zambrano/Harden are Milwauakee (who we can't possibly play in a 5 game series) and Arizona. If we can make the playoffs with Harden and Z healthy and avoid Arizona, I like our chances of at least reahcing the NLCS.
  10. The problem is that the possibility of fatigue or overuse being the culprit for Marmol's struggles seemingly hasn't even crossed Lou's mind. Marmol struggling? Let's give him more work!
  11. Thumbs up to Ted Lilly visiting him in the hospital. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080518&content_id=2723868&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
  12. I already knew. Get it....because I had sex with him.....
  13. The thing is, his numbers aren't really THAT great, he just has a ridiculous amount of RBIs so people assume he's been one of the top hitters this season. He has a .927 OPS right now. He's been very good, but not supernatural. A .927 OPS in that park isn't really that impressive.
  14. Greg Maddux just stole second off Brian McCann.
  15. I think my favorite part of the replay is that they barely show any emotion at all until it's over the fence 3 seconds, and then it's instant pandemonium. I was watching the game on my laptop from the other side of the room and heard the crack of the bat and thought it was gone. The announcers tricked me into thinking it was a flyout and then all of a sudden I hear them screaming.
  16. Haha watch the replay of the walkoff by Michaels on gameday. What the hell are the announcers even saying? Something about Mrs. McDavis?
  17. That was a crazy game and stuff, but the Pirates announcers need to calm down. Seriously.
  18. See. The Glaus homer didn't hurt because I didn't allow myself to get excited about the Pirates tying it.
  19. Relax, we know the Cards will still win.
  20. Haha it's so awesome watching two busted cheaters get lit up.
  21. Wow, Eric Gagne being relieved by Guillermo Mota. It doesn't get much worse than that.
  22. Remember when people were predicting that the Sabathia trade would pump up the Brewers and that they'd go on a big run to close out the first half? They're about to be 2-4 since the trade, all 6 of those games coming at home against garbage teams.
  23. Josh Hamilton now has 95 RBIs
