  1. I went back and looked at this. There's just something about it. I'm with you, I want this team to do it for the thousands of fans like this guy. They deserve it. That guy is part of a group that is/was trying to buy the Cubs.
  2. haha @ fontenot going oppo into the wind
  3. You've got to be kidding me. You honestly believe that a team 33 games above .500 gives up on games that they're clearly not out of? I can understand being frustrated by what you see, but heck, at least be realistic. Obviously it was hyperbole, but the 6-7 pitch inning in the 6th didn't look very inspired Cole Hamels is a very, very good pitcher. Which is why you should be working the count and trying to get him out of the game. They didn't swing at any good pitches to hit that inning. Granted, Hamels doesn't toss a lot of hittable pitches, but at least be a little patient and don't hack away at everything
  4. How do you give up 13 runs to the Nationals in one game? Crap happens....... Pitching like crap for one game is a little different than pitching/hitting/fielding/everything else like crap for 3 games.
  5. You've been struggling to get runners on all game, you have a chance to take the lead, your starter hasn't looked that good and you have 3 guys in the pen who can give you at least 2 shut down innings? Dempster had looked good since the first inning. Come on, you don't take an ace-caliber pitcher out of a tie game in the 5th inning when he has at least one more inning in him. If it was the 7th or 8th inning maybe. Why? Shouldn't you give yourself the best chance at winning? If it was the 2nd or 3rd it's one thing, but it's getting late in the 5th, and with Hamels on the mound, there's a great chance you won't have a runner in scoring position the rest of the game. You've got to take the chance there. But instead we left him in, he gave up 3, and threw 34 more pitches. How much better of a chance did Cedeno have of getting the run in than Dempster? Better, but I still don't like the odds of it happening. Since Wood is unavailable, you were trading an inning of Dempster for an inning of somebody like Howry for a slighlty larger chance of getting one run that probably wouldn't win the game anyways.

  8. I'm not even pissed off about probably losing this game, I'm pissed off about how reckless Lou is beign with all of his pitchers when it's clear we're going to the postseason. So stupid
  9. Yeah Dempster is going to be pretty much useless in October with the way Lou is handling him.
  10. Lou being reckless with a starting pitcher again
  11. Ugh, TAKE HIM OUT LOU. He's got nothing and he's almost at 100 pitches and is coming off a high pitch outing. Use your head
  12. I really wish Wood hadn't been used in that blowout against Pitt
  13. alfonso is trying too hard to impress his new infant
  14. I think Hamels likes pitching away to RHB. I think I've seen him throw like 3 pitches inside tonight.
