That's what you get when you walk Luis Castillo with 2 outs.

They can't look from the bench? Yeah because that's the exact same thing. Either way, Santana is their best pitcher and Ramirez/Theriot/Soto have almost no experience against him. It would be nice to get a look at him and then rest them all tomorrow. I mean, we have a full wekk before the playoffs start, there is plenty of time to rest.

Am I the only one who is a little upset with Soto/Ramirez/Theriot not being in the lineup tonight? If the season ended right now we'd be playing the Mets in the first round and Santana in game 1 or 2. Shouldn't we be trying to get a look at him?

It's weird to be rooting for the opposition to lose rather than the Cubs to actually win, if that maes sense.

There's a good chance that Fukudome isn't even on the playoff roster. Who would they take over Fukudome? HoffPauir? Can anyone really think they'd take a journeyman 28 yo minor leaguer over a guy they thought highly enough of to give a big contract? At the very least Piniella will want him as a defensive replacement for Derosa. If there were a viable RH OF I could see a possible argument but if it comes down to Fukudome, Hoffpauir or Pie I can't see either of them providing that much more offense to make up for the lesser defense (in the case of Hoffpauir) and the embarassment of admitting that signing Fukudome was a mistake. As for Pie, there's room for both on the roster if they do the sensible thing and go with 11 pitchers. I'm just going by the BP article that said he is in serious danger of being left off the playoff roster.

Of course you will. Care to explain why?

    Not of the actual celebration.
  10. 17 Seconds
Good one. Take your garbage elsewhere, thanks.

Does anyone know how I can watch the celebration with the champagne in the clubhouse and on the field? The mlb.tv broadcast cuts off pretty much right after game ended and didn't get the celebration. Hopefully somebody in Chicago recorded it and can upload it or something like that.

    Magic number is -1!

Hendry did not look please when Cedeno was spraying him.

I wonder if it's weird for guys like Koyie Hill to celebrate something they had nothing to do with.

This sucks. WGN is showing nothing.
  16. 17 Seconds
Can somebody tell me what has been going on? Are they still on the field? Champagne? All WGN is showing is reactions from drunk people across the street.

I can't believe I'm not able to watch thise. Fox better cut away from the Rays game if the Cubs are about to clinch. What is the crowd like today? Extra loud?
  18. 17 Seconds
Haha Micah Owings just gave the Reds the lead.
  19. 17 Seconds
What is this from and what the hell is going on in it? I must know.

The Sabathia trade isn't looking so good anymore. I know they'll still get comp picks, but it would ha e been nice to be able to trade Fielder for Cain and have LaPorta ready to step in.
  21. 17 Seconds
? We should be rooting for the Phillies.
  22. 17 Seconds
Braves tie it up on back to back errors. Still got a guy at 2nd with no outs.
  23. 17 Seconds
Not good. It's looking like a first round date with Cole Hamels and the Phillies is inevitable. If the Mets hold on against ATL they'll have a 1 game lead in the loss collumn and also hold the tie breaker, essentially giving them a 2 game lead.

Remember when Brewers fans were saying Suppan was valuable because he was a big game pitcher? I do.
  25. 17 Seconds
And now a single. The Brewers are comical at this point.
