  1. They're not gonna face the Brewers in the second. And if they do, you should thank your lucky stars. And what on earth scares you so much about the Brewers over the Mets? The Mets have the second highest scoring offense in the NL. Why do people pretend like offense doesn't exist when talking playoff matchups? The Brewer rotation is also a mess after CC. Ive said this a million times. The Brewers are a very streaky team. One minute, their at the top of their game, practically unstoppable. Just when you they'll never lose again, they fall apart. Just when you think they're done for, they get back up and go on another hot streak. All they need is one of those hot streaks to carry them through October. You've said it a million times and it's incorrect every time. The Brewers get hot when they play trashy teams. When they play good teams they lose.
  2. Well it's your fault for thinking that Zambrano is the ace of this staff.
  3. No, he really didn't. K-zone showed that none of them were really that close. Z's act is embarrassing. And I think Carlos has pretty much sealed his spot as the 3rd starter in the playoffs.
  4. I don't understand what them missing or making the playoffs has to do with the future.
  5. So what does Wood throw now?
  6. I think it will depend on what happens during these next 2 games when the Mets are going against Zambrano/Harden while the Brewers have the opportunity to beat up on the Pirates. If the Mets can maintain their 1 game lead until Friday, I think they should at least be able to force a 1 game playoff. If they end up going into Friday tied I think the Brewers should win. The Marlins aren't easy wins, while the Brewers could get some easy wins against the Cubs bench.
  7. This may end up being a very lopsided poll but I wanted to see anyways. If the Rays play the White Sox in the first round, who will you be rooting for? I hate the White Sox, but I live near Tampa and I don't know what I would do if TB actually went deep into the playoffs.
  8. I'll be able to watch them, but still, I HATE day playoff games. Night games always feel much more exciting. A World Series day game at Wrigley would be legendary though.

  10. Oh man Victor Diaz....that just felt like 13 tons of bricks fell on me. I can still remember the announcer saying "Victor Diaz hasn't hit a home run in the majors...." :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: And I still remmber McCarver saying something about how the Cubs wouldn't make the plaoffs because of that loss right after it happened.
  11. I was in middle school at the time. I remember I was at home watching the game during the 9th my dad called from worked and asked me to put the phone up to the TV so he could listen to the end of it. Bad times. And didn't Chip or Steve mess up the call or something? I remember one of them said "the game is tied" when it was actually over (since all 3 runs scored) and I was confused for like 10 seconds until they realized the game was over.
  12. Remember when people were excited about Kevin Hart because of his cutter? I do.
  13. Dave Bush just walked the pitcher to load the bases with 2 outs and gave up a 2 run single to Nyjer Morgan. Ouch.
  14. That's what you get when you walk Luis Castillo with 2 outs.
  15. They can't look from the bench? Yeah because that's the exact same thing. Either way, Santana is their best pitcher and Ramirez/Theriot/Soto have almost no experience against him. It would be nice to get a look at him and then rest them all tomorrow. I mean, we have a full wekk before the playoffs start, there is plenty of time to rest.
  16. Am I the only one who is a little upset with Soto/Ramirez/Theriot not being in the lineup tonight? If the season ended right now we'd be playing the Mets in the first round and Santana in game 1 or 2. Shouldn't we be trying to get a look at him?
  17. It's weird to be rooting for the opposition to lose rather than the Cubs to actually win, if that maes sense.
  18. There's a good chance that Fukudome isn't even on the playoff roster. Who would they take over Fukudome? HoffPauir? Can anyone really think they'd take a journeyman 28 yo minor leaguer over a guy they thought highly enough of to give a big contract? At the very least Piniella will want him as a defensive replacement for Derosa. If there were a viable RH OF I could see a possible argument but if it comes down to Fukudome, Hoffpauir or Pie I can't see either of them providing that much more offense to make up for the lesser defense (in the case of Hoffpauir) and the embarassment of admitting that signing Fukudome was a mistake. As for Pie, there's room for both on the roster if they do the sensible thing and go with 11 pitchers. I'm just going by the BP article that said he is in serious danger of being left off the playoff roster.
  19. Of course you will. Care to explain why?
  20. Ocho Cinco Roy Williams Willis McGahee

  22. Not of the actual celebration.
  23. Good one. Take your garbage elsewhere, thanks.
  24. Does anyone know how I can watch the celebration with the champagne in the clubhouse and on the field? The mlb.tv broadcast cuts off pretty much right after game ended and didn't get the celebration. Hopefully somebody in Chicago recorded it and can upload it or something like that.
