  1. omfg havlat. that was ridiculous
  2. Kerry ROYmo, as cyno would say. I hate games like this. The hawks are thoroughly dominating but are probably going to lose because of a penalty and a fluke performance from a garbage tender
  3. There you go again. OMG HE'S HAVING A BAD GAME
  4. unbelievable. stamkos has been trash all season. we're outshooting them 28-12 and are going to lose because of a penalty.
  5. wow they better not lose this game
  6. Mercker was good with the Cubs.
  7. http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?mid=200809133469162&c_id=tex That is just this last September. I like the part where he starts flipping off the fans and yelling at them. Poor guy, he's just misunderstood.
  8. please post here more often
  9. I think we're all agreeing that Meph made a good argument and we all agree there's a good chance that Fukudome gets better. The problem is Meph didn't say "there's still hope" for Fukudome. He flat out said he's a good hitter and basically that we're stupid for even questioning that it's anything but a foregone conclusion that Fukudome will be good this season.
  10. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/1433227,lilly-ozzie-steroids-021609.article Not sure I agree with what either of these guys are saying.
  11. I'm not usually one to defend Meph, but Dex was asking for it. And it is a very valid and compelling argument, even if the data pool isn't very deep. I am concerned about Kosuke, but I am far from ready to jump on the panic wagon and label him a bust. But only time will tell. I guess I was asking for it, but he brought it himsel by basically telling IMB he was being foolish for wanting to see if Kosuke can actually hit before giving him the leadoff spot... as if that's so unreasonable When the alternative may be Aaron Miles, it might be unreasonable. Why does it have to be one of those 2?
  12. Which one?

  14. Blasphemy. I guess they're thinking his still could make a comeback.
  15. The Prime 9 episode that is playing right now is "Top 9 What Could Have Beens". During the intro they showed Prior, but I'm at number 6 right now and they haven't gotten to him yet. I'm sure I'm going to wish I didn't watch it afterwards.
  16. You're right Meph. Your theory is 100% full proof. There could never be an exception. Ever. This is not possible with any of your theories. No speculation, just pure 100% accurate (every time) future telling.
  17. Meph, you made a convincing argument. The problem is that you often make arguments that sound convincing. Then if/when they're wrong, you never talk about them again. I never said Fukudome wouldn't be good this season, I just don't understand how you can act so positive when you're been wrong about this stuff. That's your problem. It's never "I think this is what will happen", it's "This is what WILL happen, PERIOD.... unless it doesn't"

  19. I'm not buying that for a second, but it would be spoogetastic if true. I'd prefer Bosh to Amar'e
  20. Yeah those are the two I like also, assuming Lee has to bat 3rd
  21. ahh the trusty babip. this just in, your babip is going to be low when you hit the ball softly every time up. i guess fukudome doesn't really suck, he was just unlucky that those 2 hoppers tothe shortstop didn't sneak over the fence so explain the difference in his numbers between Japan and the US then US pitchers are way better? Look, Fukudome has a chance to actually be good, but penciling him in as the leadoff hitter and acting like he is for sure going to be good next year and that he was just unlucky last year is ridiculous.

  23. Seconded. He might be interested in a back up role, but not one with a catcher like Soto in front of him. Pudge still wants to play and get AB's, thats not gonna have with Soto on the team. It's gonna be pretty hard to find a catcher better then Bako who would be willing to sign here, unless we overpaid. Thats why I still feel it would have took more then 750 K to resign Blanco. Yes he signed with the Padres for that, but he also has a much better chance to get playing time with the Padres. Pudge will probably sign with the Mets, Marlins or Astros were he will still get alot of AB's even if he isn't starting everyday. Blanco seemed to be fine with being a backup while he was with the Cubs. I'd say there's a very good chance he'd rather have stayed in Chicago where he's been the last 4 years. Not all guys want more playing time. You can't just assume that's what a player wants. If I had to guess, which is really all I can do since I'm not in the front office, I would think Hendry talked to Hank about coming back and Hank probably told Hendry that he wanted to go somewhere he would have a chance to play more often. That would make the most sense. Or Blanco was just another victim of Hendry's obsession with "getting more left handed" this offseason.
