  1. Or Cedeno, and you could also say Hoffpauir is taking DeRosa roster spot, with Fontenot getting a bigger role. People can word it anyway they want it to make it sound better to prove their point. Overall this is what we did though. Lost DeRosa-RH Edmonds-LH Ward- LH Cedeno-RH Added Bradley-S Hoffpauir-LH Miles-S Gathright-LH I guess it depends on how good you feel Hoffpauir can do against RH pitching next year, will factor in how good you feel about the switch. If you feel Hoffpauir can have a 850 OPS(facing mostly RH pitching) off the bench filling in at RF, LF and 1b for 250 AB's or so. Then you probably won't feel we downgraded much, and depending on how much Bradley gives us(should be at least 100 more AB's then Edmonds did) and If Fontenot hits the way the Cubs think he wil, you can actually say we might have upgraded. But right now people can't see that as being possible, because Mark DeRosa is awesome. Or because people don't trust Bradley enough to stay healthy. The second bradley gets hurt we're going to feel the loss of DeRosa. I was fine with signing Bradley or trading DeRosa, but not both. And I don't know how you can try to spin it around any other way than Miles replacing DeRosa. That's exactly who he is replacing. There's a reason both moves were made on the same day. All the other moves don't change that Miles was brought in to replace DeRosa. It was going to be one of those 2 guys.
  2. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO He's not booing, he is saying Neeewwwwwww. Nashville flat outplayed the Hawks the third period. That is why the Hawks lost. Pointing fingers at the officials doesnt help the team get any better. It just makes excuses to keep performing poorly against lessor opponents. I had the benefit of TiVo and you can't honestly tell me the refs didn't influence that 3rd period.... No. The Refs also didnt have the benefit of TiVo. So the calls were legit. I don't get that. We're not talking about a ref having to call a ball fair or foul or something like that. You're not forced to call penalties. You call them when you see somebody do something wrong. Many of those calls were garbage and had no reason to be called, especially consecutively. And the only period the Hawks were really outplayed was the 3rd, and it's hard not to get outplayed when you're shorthanded for like a 3rd of the period. How are you supposed to get anything going when you're shorthanded 4 times in one period? They still outshot the Preds for the game and had a 2 goal lead going into the 3rd period. Like i said, 2 of the last 3 goals came on power plays from penalties that should NOT have been called. Take away those 2 BS coals and it's still 3-3, not to mention the momentum factor. Did the Hawks deserve to win? I don't know. What I do know if that the refs took the chance away from them. If not for the 3 consecutive phony calls in the 3rd, I firmly believe that the Hawks get at least one point. Keep in mind I'm not one to trash refs unless they deserve it
  3. What's the deal with the 3 hours of paid programming on MLBN from 4-7 AM? That's weak Also I'm getting kind of sick of Harold Reynolds trashing metrics

That is why the Hawks lost. Pointing fingers at the officials doesnt help the team get any better. It just makes excuses to keep performing poorly against lessor opponents. Despite the fact that the Hawks got outplayed in the 3rd, 2 of the final 3 goals were scored on BS penalties, and the difference in the game was those 2 goals. Would the Hakws have won without the garbage officating? Who knows, but the refs took that chance away from them.
  5. Maybe he's getting it up in Toronto. i alays have trouble getting it up in canada
  6. how many bad games has huet had since khabi has been hurt? like, one?
  7. lol and then beaten to the puck to negate icing. gtfo the ice
  8. No doubt, though I'm not terribly worried about that at this point. vancouver has been slowly inching up on us
  9. refs have been awful, defense has been awful, huet has been awful. even though they may have won without the bogus officiating, they probably wouldn't have deserved it. they have been complete garbage in the second half of this game. campbell and huet have been the worst.
  10. this is how you piss away home ice in the first round
  11. but we've still got those makeup calls coming, right?
  12. yep, awful game for huet. awful game for everybody really. awful loss
  13. i'd be happy with an ot loss at this point
  14. 3rd in the NHL in GAA Yeah, it sure is nice when the opposing team misses empty nets. So his GAA is good because temas have been missing empty nets all season? Citing GAA as the end all be all is equivalent to citing ERA as the end all be all. no it's really not. and i'm not citing gaa as the end all. i'm saying it's funny how huet is so bad when he gives up so few goals
  15. going to be losing pretty soon. they're getting dominated right now by a crappy team.
  16. what a gabrgae goal. and of course they immediately score. terrible officiating and the hawks are completely falling apart in this period.
  17. was campbell just beaten again?
  18. lol bolland really needs to work on his breakaways
