  1. You're right. All the people I know in Miami who avoid games because of the weather must by lying. Glad that you could prove that.
  2. his ego is bigger than rickey henderson's
  3. I was pretty sure it was some kind of early 90's SNL skit the first time I saw one of those commercials
  4. Zambrano sucked for a lot of last season and 2007 was Hill's best year. So what's your point? Zambrano at his worst matches Hill at his best. I guess I can agree with that. Carlos Zambrano had a 4.52 ERA when removing his best month in 2007. Fine. You win. Rich Hill and Zambrano are equal pitchers. Next can we compare Ryan Theriot to Aramis Ramirez as hitters based on batting average? Almost everyone liked Rich Hill. Then he flamed out. I don't see why some people expect undying love and loyalty from all fans for a guy that had one pretty good season. Rich Hill was better in 2007 than Zambrano was in 2007 or 2008 If 2007 Rich Hill would like to come back I would love to see him in the rotation. I will also fill out that rotation with 1976 Mark Fidrych, 2003 Mark Prior and 1981 Fernando Valenzuela. Unfortunately, I want the 2009 versions of none of those pitchers taking the mound for the Cubs every 5th day. So again, I don't see what the point is. People liked Hill when he was good. Now that he can't throw strikes and has no options remaining, time to move on. Sean Marshall seems to have a chance to be a pretty comparable pitcher to the "good" Rich Hill. I would rather take my chances with him instead of having to sweat out every start with Hill and wonder if he is going to be effective. hey einstein, no one is arguing the cubs shouldn't have traded hill. also, learn math. Wow, I am shocked it took you this long to swoop in and defend your boy. I don't think I've ever even conversed with abuck on here, so I don't know what that's supposed to mean.
  5. Are you sure you're thinking of the right guy? Manny hit .347/.473/.587 for the Red Sox in June when you're saying he supposedly quit on them. okay so he kept hitting well while complaining so much that the red sox were basically forced to trade him. combine that with his age and terrible defense, and that's not a guy that i want on my team for that kind of money. Can't really agree with that. To me, what matters at the end of the day are your numbers. Manny was basically a .900 OPS guy for his last season and a half with Boston. That's not carrying a team.
  6. I think the weather affects ticket sales a lot more than people talk about. I've been to many games as Dolphin Staidum and it's completely miserable...even at night. You're sweating before the game even starts and by the 7th inning everyone around you smells. In the daytime it's pretty much unbearable. I live in Tampa so the Marlins series is usually the only time I get to see the Cubs all year, but I still won't go to day games. It's not even remotely enjoyable.
  7. Really we need to get used to little things like this and accept the fact that he's going to be in and out of the lineup all season. I saw this injury history posted on another site
  8. lololol artest wtf are you doing
  9. wow that second shot from artest was really dumb
  10. wtf? last i checked the score they were losing by 17 with like 5 minutes left and now they're winning? i want OT so rose has a chance at the triple double
  11. Nobody is arguing that Hill hasn't lost it or the fact that he was out of options. The discussion was about the fact that people always try to discredit what Hill did from 05-07.

  13. Why do you keep lying? I'll say this again since you ignore it the first time. You don't accumulate a 1.19 WHIP an a 3:1 K:BB over 200 innings but having one good month. This "take out his one good month" garbage has to stop.
  14. except that he already said he hasn't made a decision on whether or not he wants to come back yet. also he said he'd only go to a team like the cubs or rays.
  15. Or take away his awful September and you have an ace! You don't accumulate a 1.19 WHIP and a 3:1 K:BB over almost 200 innings without being good for the majority of the season, which he was.
  16. oh i totally understand hendry's boner for bradley. he was able to fit into their salary structure (manny couldn't), can play adequate D (manny and dunn can't), gives a left-handed bat and is probably one of the 20 best hitters in the game today. health is clearly the big risk, though. he sucks as a lefty though, and calling him a top 20 hitter is extremely generous,.... unless you're putting aside career performances and also not taking into account consistency/being proven
  17. Watch those goals again. Those weren't typical Huet-esque big rebounds off of slappers from 30 ft away, those were rebounds off close shots with his defense not covering the forechecking pens. They weren't NOT his fault, but they were moreso his D's fault. the defense set up the failure, but huet still should have stopped them. that's why they have a goalie in front of the net. 3 of those goals should not have happened, regardless of defense. it's not like they were blistering shots he had no chance at. one was on a horrible rebound he gave up and 2 were because he didn't have his stick on the ice in front of them. none of those should have been goals.
  18. that or he could just, you know, throw strikes or something. even when he was doing that people still hated him
  19. the hawks dominated this game. and the pens are not a good team, especially without crosby What the hell game were you watching? The Hawks absolutely did not dominate this game. You are insane. They outshot the Pens by like 30. 17 and SOG are hardly scoring chances. We weakly put the put to the net and didn't crash. Seriously, anyone who thinks we dominated this game must not have watched and have only been looking at the boxscore. We didn't get dominated, some of the goals on us were freak, but it was roughly even. im not just looking at the box score, i'm just showing how it backs up the obvious. i dont know how you could have watched the game and say they didn't outplay the pens and yes, at least 3 of the 5 goals on us were flukey/lucky/soft.
  20. Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse us for having higher expectations of a goalie we spent a ton of money on vs a cold minor league goalie if you had higher expectation for huet than what he's done so far, that's your fault. he has been good. This game wasn't his fault, but overall hes hardly been worth it. no this game was his fault, but he's been good. maybe complain about the team that gave him the contract instead of the guy who accepted it. huet overall has been better than expected. like i said, it's your fault if you expected him to be spectacular because he got paid a lot.
  21. the hawks dominated this game. and the pens are not a good team, especially without crosby What the hell game were you watching? The Hawks absolutely did not dominate this game. You are insane. are you serious? i don't know how you can say otherwise. almost every one of the pens goals were extremely soft. hawks outshot the pens 45 to 28. won more facoffs. more hits. seriously, the hawks thouroughly outplayed them. they just had crap goaltending, a few unlucky bounces, a couple bad giveaways, and a bad game by the refs. if both team play this way 10 times, the hawks win 9 of them
  22. Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse us for having higher expectations of a goalie we spent a ton of money on vs a cold minor league goalie if you had higher expectation for huet than what he's done so far, that's your fault. he has been good.
  23. the hawks dominated this game. and the pens are not a good team, especially without crosby
  24. 3 straight dominated games, 3 straight losses
