  1. Theo would probably take back manny before he took on Soriano and his contract
  2. No I considered that. But you also have to consider that it's not going to be the 1.232 Manny that they got for 229 PA last year. They should win that division, but I don't really see where the "team to beat" stuff comes from. They look like they have below average pitching and a slighty above average offense.
  3. What quality moves have they made? They lost Lowe and Saito and added.........? Randy Wolf? Orland Hudson? They got worse roster-wise. They need all their young guys to take a huge step forward if they want to end up with anywhee near the best record in the NL. Plus Pedro is not an ace. There are no aces on the market right now so I don't see how that is their plan right now.
  4. I'd rather have Fontenot batting behind Soto than Theriot and then the pitcher
  5. Did badnews even say anything about the Cubs 2008 bench? I didn't see that anywhere. The "sucking at every position" was in reference to the current bench, which is significantly weaker than last year's.
  6. should kane really be celebrating?
  7. this is really embarrassing. a 6 on 3 and they cant even get a decent shot
  8. 6 on 3 and still didnt come close to scoring. pathetic
  9. should we go 6 on 3 or 5 on 3? might
  10. @ NJ @ CBJ EDM LA SJ NJ VAN @ MON STL NSH @ CBJ @ NSH CBJ @ DET DET Looking at the reamining schedule, there's a really good chance we could end up as the 6th seed and have to go to Calgary
  11. at this point i hope ny keeps scoring imo the fans aren't booing enough right now.
  12. Not only are they getting close to blowing home ice, Columbus isn't that far back anymore either. We could easily be looking going to Calgary in the first round. Yikes.
  13. it's okay though because they had a players only meeting before these last 2 losses
  14. BOOOOOO eff these losers. congrats vancouver
  15. losing this game would be really really pathetic
  16. i saw the last 2 posts way before i heard the goal on the radio feed and was wondering what was going on
  17. heh okay so move him up to 6 and then you have him batting in front of Lee, Bradley, and Ramirez. 3 guys who get on base at an even bigger clip! Not to mention Fukudome at number 2.
  18. But that 3 year total is still pumped up by 2008. Look at his splits last year. They're almost identical. His LH splits aren't better than his RH splits. They're all high because of the career year, not because he started hitting lefties better than righties. If his overall numbers were at his normal career averages, his LH splits would have been also. His career splits are pretty even. Either way, it's not the point. I just don't see the point of taking Fontenot out of the lineup every few days so we can maybe get a .750 OPS in there. Where is the upside of that? I think there's more upside in letting Fontenot play every day and seeing what he can do. THAT has some real upside to it. LET HIM PLAY. I don't really know that that's true.
  19. My point was that your main defense for Miles has been that what he does it good enough for somebody off the bench. 350-400 at-bats isn't off the bench. That's playing more than half the time.
