    What more does he need to build on? Theriot is cheap and gives you above average offensive production at SS. . Defense. Theriot might give you slightly above average offense for the shortstop position, but well below average defense. that's wrong. he's not well below average defensively. based on what? highly questionable defensive metrics that are supposed to be really good but are always wildly inconsistent? defense is one of those things where you have to attempt to judge it for yourself, as hard and inconclusive as that may be. since theriot plays for the cubs and i watch the majority of the games, i can say with pretty good confidence that he is well below average. he has very poor range and a very poor arm.

    i thought the "maybe you should just stop talking" was tongue in cheek more than anything. i'm pretty sure he didn't actually think the sun not coming up is more likely than ricketts dying.

    Maybe this doesn't deserve it's own thread, but it seems like there's more than just an illness going on wth Harden. First there's this Which is kind of weird, and then Lou says this So what is really going on?     you're sure that second one didn't go in, huh? No one is sure... but if I was him I'd still be pissed at that first one. How many times do you see a goalie have to make 2 saves in a shootout? . Well he didn't really make 2 saves. At first it looked like he touched the puck with the poke check but I don't think he did. Looks like the guy pulled it back. The question is whether or not it was a "continous motion or whatever". At first I thought no way but if you watch it a few times it's pretty close.

    no im pretty sure points, rebounds, and assists are stats just checked....yep, theyre stats apparently they are like 3 of the most important ones too sorry dude i just dont understand how you can say a guy fills up the stat sheet when he leaves the main ones empty.

He doesn't get lots of blocks, steals, and rebounds with the occasional nice scoring game peppered in? I know you love to argue about semantics and that your definition of "filling up the stat sheet" may be different than mine, but it's really just a waste of time. That or you're going to pick apart "ridiculous frequency." Amirite? I guess I'm crazy for thinking that 10.1 PPG and 6.1 RPG does not equal filling up the stat sheet with ridiculous frequency. This man is a fantasy basketball gold mine actually. Luckily he was available in both my leagues (weird considering he fills up the stat sheet, which is what fantasy is about) so I just picked him up.

    The dropoff from Braun to Morneau isn't even big at all if walks, obp, or ops are stats in that league

    yeah i don't really understand how regular assists are okay but pp ones are cheap... even though the goals they lead to on the pp are not cheap.

    They aren't missing the playoffs. Not only are they 10 points ahead of St. Louis, but they have 2 games in hand. They're ahead off Anaheim/Dallas/Minn by 11 points with one game in hand. They're not missing the playoffs. As for wanting them to miss the playoffs.... you know you don't mean that. trust me, I say stuff like that all the time but it's only out of anger.

    5 straight losses now since they held the team meeting to focus on gearing up for the playoffs i think that's a pretty big indication on how this team will perform under pressure in the postseason
