i have a new background on my phone http://images.cbssports.com/u/photos/hockey/img13502294.jpg

i meant to mention this is a few days ago, but i don't think seabrook has gotten enough credit for his play in this postseason. i think he was hands down our best defensemen throughout the playoffs. very few turnovers or mistakes, and he was a complete beast physically. soooo many hits. keith was fine, but he just makes so many turnovers in the defensive zone. seabrook was almost flawless for the past 2 months.

i heard it on my way home. i don't know a lot about the blackhawks radio announcers, but it was pretty damn close to how i would envision ron santo reacting to a cubs world series. how quickly did they realize it was a goal? was there a confused delay like both tv broadcasts?

    amazing moment

i hope it's the one where ross and phoebe almost do it on a pool table

he played well in this series and helped the blackhawks win. so pronger played half the game and played solid defense against your top line, and committed a few penalties that allowed your team to score power play goals. he didn't hit anyone dirty or injure any blackhawks players during the entire series. chicago fans would have booed anyone on the flyers who won the conn smythe because that player would have played well and hawks fans would be upset that their team didn't win. just admit that there really isn't a difference between fans of most teams. it's okay, you can do it. watching conn smythe trophy presentations on youtube would suggest otherwise

how perfectly fitting is it that kane gets the OT winner in the elimination game and toews gets the conn smythe? those were the 2 guys that started the turnaround of the organization, and tonight they ended it

just watched the replay off malkin winning the conn smythe in detroit last season and yep, very little booing

what would have happened in chicago if the flyers won game seven and chris pronger won the conn smythe? if your answer isn't "booing" then you're a liar. except that jonathan toews isn't a huge douche that is hated by everyone in the nhl nice comparison though lol, well assuming that everyone thinks pronger is a huge douche and hates him (which they don't, but clearly you don't know anything about how the rest of the players in the league view him) then replace pronger with danny briere and let me know what hawks fans would have done if he'd scored the overtime winner. toews didn't score the ot winner the point is that booing the conn smythe winner is weak when that player has given you no reason to boo him

Niemi didn't have any great games in the finals, but he saved our asses twice. Once after they tied it and once in the OT. Amazing saves or we would be pissing our pants about Friday night. i wonder how carter feels about that chance he missed

    oh yeah, only sulley's teams

joel quennevile can't coach in the postseason? - gone curse of hossa? - gone patrick kane can't play in the playoffs? - gone niemi can't win a stanley cup? - gone what else am i missing?

btw, kudos to philadelphia for showing your true colors during the postgame. booing the conn smythe presentation? just great
  15. 17 Seconds
what a storybook way to end it too. it had to be kane or toews, didn't it? after it happened, all i kept saying to my brother is "patrick kane just won the stanley cup... patrick kane just won the [expletive] stanley cup"

Not surprising. CBC had better coverage of the goal. It's hilarious that Kane and Sharp were really the only 2 that knew it was in the net. Niemi's reaction to Kane jumping on him was hilarious. i like how sharp blew by a confused andrew ladd and basically knocked him out of the way

I love you too dexter. Wow this is weird. :-)) when you win a championship, it transcends sports. i could never explain this feeling to someone who isn't a sports fan. it's a cliche thing to say, but nobody can EVER take this away. every big goal this season, every big moment... it meant something. they [expletive] did it
  18. 17 Seconds
Yep. It was a great moment. They're popping the champagne. Kane's pretending to whack off. "for that little kid i saw crying after we lost game 4 in 1992, you waited 18 years, but i hope you're happy" "chicago blackhawks man. i didn't get to do that" love roenick

i mentioned the possibility of this (apprehensively) at the beginning of the playoffs in a single year, jonathan toews- - won gold medal in the olympics - won award for best forward at the olympics - won stanley cup - won conn smythe at 22 years old. i mean, seriously.... think about that for a second. i imagine that has to be the best hardware year ever for a hockey player JONATHAN TOEWS
  20. 17 Seconds
i haven't read through this thread yet so i dont know if it's been mentioned, but did you guys see roenick crying after the game talking about how "it's chicago" and "i never got to do this"? it was pretty emotional.

obviously i have no idea how i'll feel months from now, but right now i feel like next season will just be relaxing to watch with no expectations. all i ask from them next year is that they be competitive and give me a reason to watch, and we know they'll do that. man, we are stanley cup champions. STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS

please please please please please the bears can go 4-12 next year. the bulls can end up getting only joe johnson in the offseason. the cubs can continue being the cubs JUST PLEASE LET US WIN THIS GAME

Considering Philly has only 1 SOG in 3 PPs - and unfortunately that one shot contributed to their goal - but I'd say 1 SOG in 4.5 to 5 minutes of PP time for the Flyers is not "atrocious PKing". perfect example of why SOG doesn't tell you anything So you'd be alright with it being 3-1 Philly, as long as the 'Hawks looked better on the penalty kill, IYO? yeah, that's exactly what i said
