  1. wow, way to go hossa. way to pass on a wide open shot so you can do nothing with it
  2. no they're not. it's that we are choking, plain and simple.
  3. incorrect. the blackhawks have heavily outplayed them at even strength
  4. hjalmarrson has single handedly put the blackhawks down 2-0 seriously, we've dominated this game so far and are losing because of 2 atrocious turnovers. and byfuglien needs to be off the 1st line and maybe off the roster. he is absolutely pathetic right now. nice half assed clearing attempt around the boards right before the second goal, you piece of trash
  5. atrocious goal for niemi to let up too. the turnover was bad, the save attempt was worse. oh, and [expletive] you refs. seriously, [expletive] you. kopecky touches a guy high and gets a penalty, but leighton punches madden in the face right in front of everybody and gets nothing.
  6. i keep thinking about hossa too. it would be atrocious for him to have to lose 3 straight, and i can't even imagine how bad the "curse of hossa" garbage would get after that.
  7. i dont understand your posts. why are we nuts? because we're being unbiased in our assessment of the series so far. the flyers have played us evenly for 3 straight games and are giving us all sorts of problems. i'm not sure how that's not a concern to you. Because those problems have lead to us winning 2 out of 3 games. I'll take a repeat of that. yeah, i guess it just seems worse since we were probably all expecting us to outplay them way more. now that it appears both teams are going to be even, it's a harsh kick back to reality.
  8. it's stupid that i finally have a team in a championship series, and all i want is for it to be over. i should be enjoying this. if i'm not, what's the point of even watching sports. watching game 3 was probably the most tense i've ever been watching a sporting event. even more than the 03 NLCS (mostly because that was before sports broke me). i was literally ill the entire game. yea, i care too much about sports.

  10. once again, it's not the loss. it's the fact that the flyers are playing us evenly when we should be better.
  11. A great team playing at less than their best being up 2-1 is hardly justification for being worried about that level of play. Philly mucks it up, and it's gotten them one win in three games. Congrats. But they felt lucky to get out of game 3 with a win, believe me. Their fans were not the least bit confident at the end of regulation or going into overtime. you're basing that on what? considering the hawks got raped the entire 3rd period, i'd say rational philly fans were probably pretty confident. and i don't understand how you could say that the flyers playing us evenly for 3 games isn't justification for being worried about that level of play. I'm basing that on my attendance at the game. That place was rocking for the first period, but tense and not happy late. They were relieved to win. The bulk of the comments I overheard related to be relieved that they actually won a game and didn't get swept. Yesterday I heard a whole bunch of "I hope they can at least push it to Game 7 to give them a chance." of course they're tense late in the game. it's overtime in a game that's a must win or their season is essentially over. and of course casual fans are just going to see that they were down 2-0 and not really factor in how they played in those 2 games. and it seems like you're cherry picking things you heard from random people at the game and assuming that's how they all feel. either way, it doesn't matter. there is no reason the flyers shouldn't have been confident going into OT. they have played us evenly all series and were completely dominating in the 3rd.
  12. i'm not saying it's likely, i'm just asking "what if?". that would suck, considering he's the main reason we're up 2-1. The fact that Chicago is better is the main reason. better team when? in the regular season? do you think the hawks have outplayed them this series by more than a marginal amount? i don't. i think it's been pretty even and maybe slightly tilted to the flyers. The Hawks are better because they've played crappy and beaten a team playing well 2 of 3. this post doesn't even make sense in this series of posts.
  13. Why do we know Chicago is better? I sure haven't seen it on the ice. When the game is on the line, at the very least the last two games, Philadelphia has completely and utterly dominated. That's nonsense. Philly has managed to muck it up, but they haven't looked all that good. And they weren't all that impressive the rest of the playoffs. They have managed to partially hold back the superior Chicago talent with their style of play and the help of some dubious calls, but that has still only gotten them one win in three games. you keep saying "muck it up", and i still don't know what it means. what i do know is that the flyers have played us evenly for 3 games in the series and could be winning just as easily as they're losing.

  15. yeah, the 3rd period atrociousness is highly concerning. this team usually dominated the 3rd, not the other way around. it felt like in that 3rd game, philly wanted it more. i know that's cliche as hell sounding, but i didn't see the same level of intensity from the blackhawks. the flyers were winning all the battles. they were getting to the loose pucks.
  16. That's only because he had a couple shutouts against teams without an attack of their own. Philly has been at their best for three games, it's not all that impressive and they don't have another gear. Chicago has been a bit ho-hum, and they are up 2-1. They should win 2 of 3 again soon. i'm not saying it's likely, i'm just asking "what if?". that would suck, considering he's the main reason we're up 2-1. 17. Wasn't that Game 2? Yeah...that's what I thought. I don't know that Leighton has more in him than what we saw in game 2. i figured it would be brought up and i guess it's hard to say he wasn't good when he only gave up 2 goals, but i don't think he was. he didn't really have to do much. we got some pressure, but everything was right in his chest or wide of the net. also, the game winner was atrociously soft. 2 goals isn't bad, but it should have been 1 and an overtime game.

  19. selig should have just sacked up and made a "a play can be reviewed and overturned by the commisioner if it is the potential final out of a perfect game" rule
  20. i'm worried that at some point the flyers might actually get a good goaltending performance
  21. it's been 7 years since i've been this terrified of a sporting event and wanted my team to win as badly as i want the hawks to win tomorrow night. please win. pleeeeeeease
  22. its making me sad reading this. i hope youre just sulleying it
  23. let me ask you guys- if you could take a split over the next 2 games right now (putting us up 3-2 with 2 chances to clinch), would you take it? i think i would.
  24. I didn't watch a good portion of the Nashville series because I was just too keyed up about a first-round choke. I'm thinking about taking at least game 4 off, just to calm myself down. i've thought about doing that too, but i'd never be able to. i'd end up turning it on to check the score after like a half hour and then never be able to stop. i think it just sucked that it had to be an OT loss. a regular loss wouldn't have kicked me in the balls as much. but damn, we were one goal away from being almost a sure thing for the cup. instead, all we have is a series lead of the smallest margin.
