  1. what a storybook way to end it too. it had to be kane or toews, didn't it? after it happened, all i kept saying to my brother is "patrick kane just won the stanley cup... patrick kane just won the [expletive] stanley cup"
  2. Not surprising. CBC had better coverage of the goal. It's hilarious that Kane and Sharp were really the only 2 that knew it was in the net. Niemi's reaction to Kane jumping on him was hilarious. i like how sharp blew by a confused andrew ladd and basically knocked him out of the way
  3. I love you too dexter. Wow this is weird. :-)) when you win a championship, it transcends sports. i could never explain this feeling to someone who isn't a sports fan. it's a cliche thing to say, but nobody can EVER take this away. every big goal this season, every big moment... it meant something. they [expletive] did it
  4. Yep. It was a great moment. They're popping the champagne. Kane's pretending to whack off. "for that little kid i saw crying after we lost game 4 in 1992, you waited 18 years, but i hope you're happy" "chicago blackhawks man. i didn't get to do that" love roenick
  5. i mentioned the possibility of this (apprehensively) at the beginning of the playoffs in a single year, jonathan toews- - won gold medal in the olympics - won award for best forward at the olympics - won stanley cup - won conn smythe at 22 years old. i mean, seriously.... think about that for a second. i imagine that has to be the best hardware year ever for a hockey player JONATHAN TOEWS
  6. i haven't read through this thread yet so i dont know if it's been mentioned, but did you guys see roenick crying after the game talking about how "it's chicago" and "i never got to do this"? it was pretty emotional.
  7. obviously i have no idea how i'll feel months from now, but right now i feel like next season will just be relaxing to watch with no expectations. all i ask from them next year is that they be competitive and give me a reason to watch, and we know they'll do that. man, we are stanley cup champions. STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS
  8. hawks played back in the last 10 minutes and it cost them
  9. please please please please please the bears can go 4-12 next year. the bulls can end up getting only joe johnson in the offseason. the cubs can continue being the cubs JUST PLEASE LET US WIN THIS GAME
  10. Considering Philly has only 1 SOG in 3 PPs - and unfortunately that one shot contributed to their goal - but I'd say 1 SOG in 4.5 to 5 minutes of PP time for the Flyers is not "atrocious PKing". perfect example of why SOG doesn't tell you anything So you'd be alright with it being 3-1 Philly, as long as the 'Hawks looked better on the penalty kill, IYO? yeah, that's exactly what i said
  11. Considering Philly has only 1 SOG in 3 PPs - and unfortunately that one shot contributed to their goal - but I'd say 1 SOG in 4.5 to 5 minutes of PP time for the Flyers is not "atrocious PKing". perfect example of why SOG doesn't tell you anything
  12. we really need to stop taking penalties because our PK is atrocious right now. all 3 power plays consisted of the flyers just dancing around own zone at will and wtf was keith doing there? maybe you should get a stick on that guy considering you're covering nobody else. this is kind of a big game.
  13. i feel good too for some reason so they'll probably lose
  14. He's been strangely absent from this thread since before game 5. I think he said something about traveling but still. He was so cocky about being certain that the Hawks were going to lose the series. They still might, but I think he was saying it would be in 6 games. he was just trying to reverse jinx it (sulley it).
  15. who said anything about that? oh, nobody did.
  16. why do i get the feeling that kyle is in the corner of a dark room in the fetal position saying "please one more win, please one more win, please one more win" over and over again to himself right now?
  17. since 1900, strasburg is only the 6th pitcher to throw 7 innings or less, strike out 14 or more, and walk none. not the 6th player to do it in his debut, the 6th player to do it at all. and lol @ setting the franchise k record in your first start
  18. i dunno, i just don't like it. we're 1 win from a championship and they go with a picture of pronger in a skirt?
  19. hey, paul pierce could still be right about this not going back to la
  20. 14 k's and zero walks? [expletive] and only 94 pitches. if he wasn't on a pitch count, it would have been even higher
  21. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/06/leighton-back-in-goal-for-flyers.html what an idiot. the only reason leighton has "the best numbers in the playoffs" is because he hasn't played much and has his numbers pumped up by 3 shutouts against a terrible montreal offense. i wonder what niemi's postseason numbers would look like if he got to play the bruins and canadiens instead of the canucks and sharks
  22. i'm 100% against this for multiple reasons. so [expletive] stupid, and pretty embarrassing to the city
  23. i don't think anybody is blaming lou. he's just making a bad team worse. people don't criticize lou for the cubs results this season, they criticize him for his consistently awful baseball decisions
  24. so even when koyie hill is doing "good", he still sucks .... or, to put it another way, Soto would have to increase his OPS by .225 to suck. increase his "last 28 days" ops?
