  1. this would be fine if he didn't previously indicate he'd accept a trade to atlanta. that is what's annoying.
  2. but he gave at least some sort of indication that he would accept a trade to atlanta, otherwise theo/hoyer wouldn't have been spending time on them. that's why i still think he eventually gives the ok. he's just dragging his feet.
  3. the astros got alen hanson in the wandy deal fuuuuuuuuu
  4. seems like there are a ton of starting pitchers available. not good for us.
  5. i'm enjoying the blind loyalty that casto's spray chart has for dempster in this thread. sounds to me like dempster was all geared up for la, then had his feelingd hurt when the atlanta news broke. now he's pouting and stomping his feet to try and regain some power. i bet this still happens. if not, [expletive] ryan dempster. thanks for the 7 walks and all the cringe worthy impressions.
  6. if it does end up being more serious than cramps, how serious are triceps injuries? better than forearm injuries, i'm assuming.
  7. "cramping in his right tricep" is what len just said is that good?
  8. the pirates just batted around on zambrano without a hit.
  9. baez is a double short of the cycle
  10. seriously injured? looked like cramps. do your thing, though.
  11. when was the last time junior lake had a big game?
  12. http://espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/story/_/id/8185283/chicago-cubs-ryan-dempster-makes-start-amid-trade-talk i thought the red sox said they were out on dempster.
  13. i basically agree (i trust them), but if it's true that gould/withrow or something like that was offered, i'd take it. i wonder if the offers suck and he's waiting for a decent return, or if the offers are decent and he's hoping somebody does something stupid.
  14. basically true. phillips will unfortunately win it. phillips range/dwar 4.59/1.0 barneys range/dwar 5.17/2.9 phillips ops: 774 barneys ops: 692 don't be so sure imo, offensively they aren't THAT far apart. pretty confidant barneys got this locked up, honestly. the leagues taken notice of the fact that he has a vacuum attached to him. i didn't say phillips should win it. i said he will. gold glove is an irrelevant award.
  15. I believe you can trade a player on the DL. Much more complicated I am sure and reduced value, but it would still be possible. i can't imagine anyone giving up anything of significant value, even if it's a minor injury. especially if guys like hamels/greinke/garza become available.
  16. i didn't say anything about aggravating past injuries. i'm saying that any minor injury that's similar in severity to the two he's already has this year would be enough to put him out past the deadline.
  17. and noah
  18. basically true. phillips will unfortunately win it.
  19. i don't care about that, but dempster is 35 and has already had 2 injuries this season that would both have crushed his trade value right now. all it takes is one minor injury and then we get nothing. i agree with davell. they must be really underwhelmed with the current offers if they're willing to risk any kind of injury this close to the deadline.
  20. why was soler removed for a pinch hitter?
  21. he's really piling on the xbh now
