they're going to win by 1 again. how does this keep happening? like rationally i know it isn't sustainable to win like that, but the season starts and they're right back to it. do they deserve credit for being "clutch" at some point? like how long do they have to do it until you have to actually give them credit for it? 5-1 is a blip over a full season, and yet it already feels like rooting against them is a lost cause. i honestly wish they were just legitimately stacked. it would make it much less annoying.

brewers are going to win again, but that's probably good. clear out the other wild card contenders for us so we have a shot there.

It's butt, because signing a baller hitter would ideally give the Cubs at least a bit more freedom to maybe work out some kind of a trade for a non-butt pitcher. it's kind of true though. i wanted harper badly but i also thought it was a little odd that everyone was seemingly cool with the pitching

and then how would we fix it? there are going to be limited free agents (and who knows when ricketts will be willing to spend again on FA, assuming we'll need to pay baez and kb soon), and the farm system is still pretty bad right? like how are we going to add talent to make up for these huge mistakes.

nobody cares about the 1-2 record, it's the way it happened. think about the resources that were used to acquire the pitchers who looked broken this weekend. and it's not that they were bad, it's that they were complete messes in the ways that they were complete messes last year.
