  1. Man, I remember buying 12 packs of Keystone Ice in college for like $4. I could get hammered cheap! I haven't tried the Big Flats, but I'm slightly tempted every time I see it. The faux-promotion Colbert did was pretty awesome and made we want to try it.
  2. Well, Randy Bush sounds mentally challenged. "We need to play with more intensity and put together better at-bats with runners in scoring position." No mention of OBP. Slight mention of defense, which was just a thinly veiled criticism of our most promising player.
  3. There are a few, and every one of them drinks Steel Reserve.
  4. What a dreadful article. And how did Z get the lazy rap? Crazy? Sure. Lazy? no way. Bradley too. The one thing I always said about Bradley was that he was too laid back and didn't care. hahaha! I didn't even get that far. I think I closed it after Zambrano.
  5. The only can of beer I haven't been able to finish It seems to be a favorite among the drunken bums here. In college, we bought it ironically and because it was $2 for a 6 pack of tallboys. We had a lot in common with the Milwaukee bums when we did it, too.
  6. Busch Light, Old Style, PBR and Keystone are all battling it out for dominance in the shallow gene pool market. You can go straight to hell for lumping PBR in there Hipster? I can't wait for the day that hipsters either: 1. Find another beer to ironically drink 2. Discover the actual meaning of irony and stop drinking PBR Then I'll have my beer back from those douches. Bah. I can't help it that hipsters like a multitude of awesome things. Why don't you continue to like what you like and not worry about being lumped in with the (mainstream) counterculture.

  8. Busch Light, Old Style, PBR and Keystone are all battling it out for dominance in the shallow gene pool market. You can go straight to hell for lumping PBR in there Hipster? It's just by far the best of the cheapies and doesn't deserve to be equated to the Busch Lites of the world.

  10. I just thought of "old man yells at cloud"
  11. No, I just moused over it
  12. Hiring Theo to head up baseball operations would be the smartest thing the franchise has ever done.
  13. Not a good sign if it was Peoria's scoreboard. !!
  14. I might quit in that scenario. Andrew Friedman and Manny Acta, please.
  15. Depending on where exactly you're coming from, it might make sense to park at the Davis stop in Evanston and take the purple/red line down so you don't even have to drive into the city. If you're coming down via 94, though, better to park at DeVry, as was said.
  16. That's the most negative thing Fleita has ever said. "He can really catch a ball" is the dumbest thing anyone has ever said.
  17. You go Kyle, someone needs to put Nuts in his place, he's the one no one cares about. YES GO GO GO
  18. This got lost, and it really shouldn't have
  19. What am I missing about what happened with Tejada? I thought it would be a perfect example of this exact thing happening, and the team he was on didn't really have (or at least seek) any recourse with regards to violation of terms. Someone help me; I'm lost.
  20. Are you for serious? I hope he mixed up Bruce Miles and Bruce Levine. Bruce has been one of the only people in the media to question Hendry's ability to do that job based on his outdated philosophies. He's been the only one pointing out the flaws in Hendry's be aggressive, swing swing swing, give me some athletes, damn the computers philosophy. But he's a beat writer who does it more subtly than a bombastic columnist would. Others have attacked Hendry, but they only do it because attack is their only style. And they don't even know what they are attacking. This is a really good summation of why, for example, you shouldn't put any stock in the vitriol directed at Kenney, even if it's coming from 8 different local columnists.
  21. You might be right, I hadn't heard anything on Del Valle. ETA: Just saw the 98 mph tweet. Wowza. He is 88-92. Our scoreboard lights were out on the bottom left hand corner Friday night making the 8 in 88 look like a 9 and it got tweeted out. An honest mistake by someone who had never been to our stadium before and didn't know that the lights on the radar gun are broken. Fastest I have heard he has legitimately hit this season is 93-4. That said he was very impressive in his short time with the Chiefs. That's...embarrassing.
  22. I think that's a needed dose of reality for a lot of Cubs fans. HA. HA-HA-HA. The next Pujols. GFY
