  1. And we finally have a few meaningful hard throwing pitching prospects/young pitchers. What does stink is it appears the 2nd TJS is now happening sooner than the 7-ish year gap we used to think it would take.
  2. Oh, I agree but it’s nice to get over-the-top, undeserved prospect love like the Padres and Dodgers do.
  3. Follow-up tweet that I missed: (I don’t have to imagine Nico with power. I just have to watch Nico in 2026.).
  4. Carson Wiggins can hit 100 and had TJS at Arkansas - they’re practically twins. (I think the Cubs would gladly draft Carson in the 2nd round.)
  5. Yeah, he only had 22.2 innings stateside and missed most of last season injured so I’m not too concerned about him being 21 at low-A (also don’t think 21 is that crazy at low-A; we’re happy with Dominick Reid who is 22).
  6. Scheduled Games (Central Time): Iowa at Columbus, 3:05 pm Knoxville at Pensacola, 6:05 pm South Bend vs. Beloit, 3:05 pm Myrtle Beach vs. Kannapolis, 6:05 pm Probable Starters: Iowa: LHP Jordan Wicks (rehab) Knoxville: RHP Jake Knapp (8 IP, 4.50 ERA, 3.49 FIP, 9 K, 1 BB) South Bend: RHP Koen Moreno (4.2 IP, 13.50 ERA, 6.28 FIP, 4 K, 2 BB) Myrtle Beach: LHP Victor Zarraga (5.2 IP, 7.94 ERA, 5.94 FIP, 5 K, 3 BB)
  7. Hartshorn did strike out in his last two PAs.
  8. That's some good pitching down on the farm:
  9. Crews and Skenes were 1A and 1B but both BA and Pipeline had Crews ahead of Skenes. I had to look up 2022 because I vaguely remembered there being a cluster and no consensus but surprisingly, both BA and Pipeline both had Druw Jones ahead of Jackson Holliday (BA actually had Brooks Lee ahead of Holliday too). Adley was definitely the consensus in 2019 (and amusingly, has easily been passed by the #2 guy in that year's draft rankings, Bobby Witt Jr).
  10. Scheduled Games (Central Time): Iowa at Columbus, 5:15 pm Knoxville at Pensacola, 6:05 pm South Bend vs. Beloit, 6:05 pm Myrtle Beach vs. Kannapolis, 6:05 pm Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Vince Velázquez (12.1 IP, 4.38 ERA, 4.98 FIP, 12 K, 5 BB) Knoxville: RHP Grant Kipp (8.1 IP, 0.00 ERA, 2.77 FIP, 7 K, 1 BB) South Bend: LHP Cole Reynolds (3 IP, 6.00 ERA, 2.62 FIP, 5 K, 2 BB) Myrtle Beach: RHP Edwardo Melendez (4 IP, 0.00 ERA, 5.28 FIP, 6 K, 5 BB)
  11. What a rough outing for JP Wheat. 0.1 IP, 1 H, 4 ER, 4 BB, 0 K, 3 WP 3 of the runs scored on wild pitches.
  12. Owen Ayers HRed for the 4th consecutive game.
  13. 11 whiffs so far for Naz - 3 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K
  14. Boyd ended up throwing 64 pitches. 3.2 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 6 K All the damage in the 2nd inning.
  15. Boyd with a 1-2-3 1st. Topped out at 94. Pedro Ramírez HR (#5).
