  1. I disagree with this part of the analysis. He was a Rule 5 pickup in 2005, and the bullpen made sense as a way to keep him on the roster. Also, he's still young enough that limiting his pitches is probably a smart idea. Keeping him in the bullpen is one way to do that (but not the only way, of course). Well, keeping him in the bullpen in 2006 didn't make much sense. Send him to AAA and have him work on starting again.
  2. You got the proof for that one?
  3. From what we've heard so far, I'm not sure this is going to make Tank miss any more time this season unless Lovie and the Bears are trying to make a point
  4. Gusave lost 11-6, box: 3B I. Salas 2/3, 2 R, 2B (2), HR (2), RBI (10), BB (6) Culiacan lost 6-4 in 11 innings, box: 3B C. McGehee 1/5, RBI (34), 2 K (26) Overall: Casey McGehee (Culiacan): 65/213, .305/.368/.446/.814, 7 HR, 9 2B, 21 BB, 26 K, 1/3 SB, 10 E Issmael Salas (Gusave): 21/65, .323/.380/.446/.826, 2 HR, 2 2B, 6 BB, 8 K, 1/2 SB
  5. Geez, Tank. When Lovie said he wanted you to gather your mind this weekend, I don't think he meant gathering it with your posse on Rush Street. Certainly disappointing.
  6. Geovany Soto (Arecibo): 12/58, .207/.254/.328/.582, 4 BB, 13 K, 7 2B Federico Báez (Manati): 12.2 IP, 6 R, 5 ER, 9 H, 4 K/2 BB, 1 HR, 3.55 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, .191 BAA, 2 S
  7. And Patrick Cowan was cleared to play and is going to start over Ben Olson. :(:x
  8. Psh, who cares about Missouri vs. Illinois? It's all about UCLA vs. Oakland (Michigan) tomorrow!!!
  9. Jae Kuk Ryu is still listed as wearing No. 20. Subject to change at any time, certainly, but No. 20 Ryu and No. 17 Pie is what the roster says at present. Yeah, I saw that too. Pie shouldn't be #17, that was only good for Gracie. (Bobby Hill sucked in it.) I believe he wears #22? in the minors, but in the winter leagues he wore #20 from pictures I've seen. In his time in the minors, he's worn #15 and #20. The Cubs better retire Sammy's number!!
  10. Felix Pie's final line: 27/125, .216/.263/.296/.559, 4 2B, 1 HR, 1 HBP, 7 BB, 25 K vs. RHP: 22/94, .234/.273/.309/.582, 4 2B, 1 HR, 1 HBP, 4 BB, 18 K vs. LHP: 5/31, .161/.235/.161/.396, 3 BB, 7 K Since I went through all of the RHP/LHP splits, they might not be completely correct.
  11. Licey loses a Felix Pie but gains a Juan Mateo. Licey loses 12-10: RP J. Mateo 2 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 3 K/0 BB, 2 HR
  12. Not that I know of, balsa. Good news, guys...Angel isn't hurt. Bad news? He didn't do too well again. Leones lose 7-4, box: C H. Blanco 0/3 Tigres win 2-0, box: SS R. Cedeño 1/4, 2B (3) Navegantes lose 6-3, box: SP A. Guzman 4 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 2 K/2 BB, 1 HBP, 1 HR, 5 GO-4 FO Overall: Henry Blanco (Leones): 33/149, .221/.301/.329/.643, 1 HBP, 16 BB, 21 K, 3 HR, 7 2B, 2/3 SB, 3 E Ronny Cedeño (Tigres): 25/103, .243/.316/.330/.646, 1 HBP, 10 BB, 23 K, 2 HR, 3 2B, 0/3 SB, 2 E Angel Guzman (Navegantes): 13 IP, 5 ER, 11 H, 11 K/2 BB, 2 HR, 3.46 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 12 GO-14 FO
  13. Don't exagerate. It's only 30-40% right now. Better not. I'll be up in the 400s. Oddly enough, we're expecting the same type of weather at the same time on Sunday here in LA.
  14. Looking like the temps will be around 50°F with a 50% chance of showers at game time.
  15. I'll do it. For free. As long as the Trib pays for my flight to Chicago and lodging in Chicago.
  16. Well, looks like you're right, he's off the roster. You'd have thought I'd have checked that, huh?
  17. Pima was where Donald Veal attended CC, unless I'm mistaken. You aren't mistaken.
  18. Yeah, most of his ABs have come in the 9-spot. When I have a little time, I'll go through the boxes and figure out how he's done against lefties and righties. milb.com has his splits through October, but they haven't updated since then. Well of course I read your post after calculating Felix's first 42 ABs - exactly what MiLB.com shows. Meh. I'll do the rest tomorrow after our office Christmas party (when I won't feel like working).
  19. Yeah, most of his ABs have come in the 9-spot. When I have a little time, I'll go through the boxes and figure out how he's done against lefties and righties.
  20. What? Cubweiser...you don't want to talk Bruin football?
  21. For now, Alex Brown is moving inside on obvious passing downs so Anderson can play.
  22. They'll probably wait until we play in the Superbowl to hand down the suspension. This will carry over into next year past the Super Bowl. The litigation process will delay this until probably April. Yeah, I can't see the litigation process cutting short this season, but I can't see how it won't cause some problems next season.
  23. Leones lose 6-5, box: C H. Blanco 2/4, R Overall: Henry Blanco (Leones): 33/146, .226/.307/.336/.643, 1 HBP, 16 BB, 21 K, 3 HR, 7 2B, 2/3 SB, 3 E ------------- Angel Guzman (Navegantes): 9 IP, 3 ER, 6 H, 9 K/0 BB, 1 HR, 3.00 ERA, 0.67 WHIP, 7 GO-10 FO
  24. Culiacan won 6-5, box: 3B C. McGehee 0/4 Gusave lost 3-1, box: 3B I.
