    I'm just reading scouting reports here but I'd prefer the guy who has a better hit tool since they can both play good shortstop. I'm not as intrigued by elite speed being the top tool. Not a big deal - they're both great athletes and first round prep shortstops have done pretty well in this part of the draft the last few years so either of them seem like a wise pick. I would find it hard to pass on Witherspoon who is generally valued higher than both Hall and Pierce and feels like a great fit for the Cubs player development and Tyler Zombro.

    The Cubs don’t normally promote players from the DSL to Arizona midseason so he must be intriguing. The lasy two who got promoted midseason (Derek Alcántara and Leonel Espinoza) have done well so far. de León is 20 and was OPSing 1.135 so far this season.
