    Point of clarification: McCullough tore his knee in what would have been his second to last start in 2023 (on Sept 1, 2023). He didn't miss half the season.

    AKME turned down an offer of Ball for Memphis’ unprotected 2025 first rounder (which ended up being 16th overall) and ended up trading Ball straight up for Okoro. Just poor asset management. AKME’s strategy is getting young vets who have some playoff experience but have fallen out of favor with teams with loftier aspirations. Would be a decent strategy if they were much better at player development. They’re just trying to lock in that play-in ceiling instead of getting more picks. Kumainga fits this profile too.
