  1. I do too, which is all the more amusing considering this happened last season.
  2. The A's need to stop being competitive first. Also, I had visions of Teheran being the big trade target while he pitched last night. He's okay, but I'd like to aim higher in case Arrieta doesn't re-sign.
  3. I was seriously wondering if someone was going to start a thread like this today. I know he's a slow starter, but he looks lost at the plate. The good news is that he's sucking and we're still awesome. I always find this sort of statement weird. Most guys who are slumping tend to look lost at the plate.

  5. take out the games against us and how do they look? The Angels and Cardinals are at .500, the rest of the teams the Cubs have played are below .500.
  6. Nah. Another day and this isn't in extras because the Cubs would have already won with the dongs the wind robbed earlier.
  7. I'm impressed the ump called ball four a ball.
  8. Yes. Doesn't mean Smith had a "solid hit" like you said.
  9. Smith's hit wasn't solid - it's a potential DP ball if the runner wasn't going. Hell, Castro's single wasn't hit hard either.
  10. Guess they didn't have enough evidence. Looked safe to me.
  11. I mean, he gave up a run because Russell booted a groundball and another because of a fluke play on a DP, but okay. 7 IP, 2 ER. He should end up being better than Hammel (unless second half Hammel never shows up) and Hendricks.
  12. I mean, that crap was a great base running decision by Garcia, but okay.
  13. Of course it was. And now we all wish Johnson had bunted.
  14. I mostly saw a lot of grades in the B range (but I didn't really pay close attention or compile the grades; that feels like something UMFan is better suited to do). The opinions on Floyd were mixed but most loved trading down later to add more picks while still getting well regarded players.

  17. I agree Markey is likely destined to be a reliever but I'd rather he get starter innings now. You're right that Friday would have been Markey's regular day.
  18. Adam Wainwright has a 7.16 ERA.
  19. The Cubs total draft pool is $2,245,100. Unsurprisingly, that's the smallest pool in the draft. 3. $573,900 4. $429,790 5. $321,800 6. $241,000 7. $186,000 8. $173,800 9. $162,300 10. $156,600
  20. Holy horsefeathers. That's horrible.
  21. Neither of them should still be in the minors. I don't like playing clock games with pitchers.
