  1. Just like last year, the three best teams in the NL come from the Central. And the Cardinals aren't one of them.
  2. False. Partly because Sonny Gray will bump Lester to #3.
  3. Hopefully Hendricks is on a short leash this far into the game.
  4. I don't think there's much question that Candelario can handle third base in the big leagues. It's part of why I have him ranked so highly.
  5. 1. Willson Contreras 2. Gleyber Torres 3. Jeimer Candelario 4. Ian Happ 5. Albert Almora 6. Eloy Jimenez 7. Billy McKinney 8. Dylan Cease 9. Oscar de la Cruz 10. Duane Underwood Still unsure how to rank Eddy Julio Martinez but he probably belongs in the top ten.
  6. Rough game for Ian Happ. And 3 throwing/pickoff errors for Justin Steele!?

  9. I really liked the Schwarber pick and was pushing him a few weeks before the draft when he wasn't being mentioned yet and Conforto was all the rage. Rare good prediction by me (admittedly I was very intrigued by Jackson too).

  13. I don't know if they'll worry about the Super Two with Glasnow but he could be up as early as May or June. Taillon hasn't pitched many innings the past two years due to TJS so he's probably on a much more limited track this season - I guess it depends on how good he looks to start off and how creative the Pirates are with his innings so he can help the big league team.
  14. To be unnecessarily fair to Jackson, it was probably more between Schawrber and Conforto than Jackson. Schwarber had more power with 40 HRs in college to Conforto's 31, including only 7 as a junior. Fair. Alex Jackson was in the mix with about two weeks to go. Then Conforto seemed to be the leader before Schwarber came on strong in the days right before the draft. I never got the Conforto infatuation - same defensive questions in the OF without even the potential at C AND less power than Schwarber.
  15. Alex Jackson is starting his second full pro season in extended spring training. Kyle Schwarber hit a home run into a river during a playoff game in his first full pro season. Thank you, Brain Trust.
  16. http://mbpelicans.mlblogs.com/2016/04/05/2016-pelican-roster-breakdown/ Myrtle Beach's rotation: Daury Torrez (surprised since he wasn't stretched out in Arizona), Jonathan Martinez, Jake Stinnett, Trevor Clifton, Erick Leal and Zach Hedges. Kind of disappointed David Berg didn't end up at Tennessee. Based on Arizona Phil's blog posts, it sounds like Berg was one of the last guys demoted from Tennessee to MB.
  17. They go the first month or two with 6-man rotations and then kind of end up with a 5-man after that due to injuries, promotions, etc.
  18. May have been the phone camera pointing at him, but I'd prefer to think that he was staring at you like that for 10 minutes straight until you took a photo. There was a line of fans to take pictures with him and shake his hand, as though he was some sort of celebrity.
  19. That was tons of fun. Only complaint is that with this lineup and Arrieta, you have no time to get beer.
  20. He'll probably start late to limit his innings. Yep. No De La Cruz, guess Arizona Phil is right that he's injured. Pretty happy to see EJM make South Bend.
  21. Sounds like this game might not be sold out because I got a Groupon email this morning for tickets. Yikes, Anaheim.
