  1. I'll be pleased if the Cubs have the lead after this half inning.
  2. Yeah, I said that when he first went down and it appeared to not be serious. Cease is probably shooting for 100 innings this year so missing ~4 starts definitely wasn't too bad.
  3. Cease was strong. [tweet] [/tweet]
  4. [tweet] [/tweet] Raisin, How about another Oregon State SP? Law in his final mock now has on Drew Rasmussen. I liked him a lot before he had TJS his sophomore year. He came back at the end of this year out of OSU's bullpen and was up to 98. It boils down to how confident you are with his health and recovery but I'd rather not take him in the first, though. I also like Jake Thompson out of OSU as a third rounder. The Cubs drafted him out of HS.
  5. Both Stephen Bruno and Taylor Davis ended up pitching in Iowa's game two blowout loss.

  7. I bet Minnesota/Cincinnati/San Diego/Tampa is digging Kyle Wright throwing over 120 stressful pitches in the rain against the best college baseball team in possibly decades.
  8. Do you mean he'll be demoted to the Tennessee bullpen after today's start? I don't think so. I doubt anyone's harboring any illusions that he'll be anything besides a reliever if he has any success in the big leagues but he should continue the start in the minors because he desperately needs to log the innings.
  9. He plays for UCLA's rival but man, do I love watching Nick Madrigal play. Would be great to see the Cubs pick him in 2018 but I imagine he'll be a top 10 pick despite his size.
  10. The Rockies are damn good but it'll be interesting seeing how they hold up down the stretch with 3-4 rookies in their rotation.
  11. Agreed. The warning signs were all there in Iowa. Hopefully when Hendricks returns, Montgomery stays in the rotation.
  12. Glad he was out at second but, geez, Addison. He must need more than just the one day off.
  13. Sinkerball pitchers shouldn't give up this many XBHs.
  14. Actually, the Cubs blew 1-0 and 2-0 leads the last two days. They're shaking things up today.
  15. Fun fact: Theo and Jed saw Hoffman's best start of his junior year. They were going to draft him after that start, but he tore his elbow on the last pitch of that outing.

  17. Just like that one Padres game. 11 baserunners via BB and HBP, only 3 hits.
