  1. At least White was a consensus pick for that part of the draft, unlike Floyd (especially with Hargreaves and Tunsil available). Well besides being awful reasoning, I'm not sure thats generally true. There was still quite a bit of question around White. Having not liked either pick, I disliked they Floyd pick a bit less. Oh yeah, lot of questions that White has yet to answer but he was considered a sure fire top ten pick.

  3. Yeah, I believe the bullpen game was caused by Hendricks moving to Monday to line him as the Game 2 starter. The only change is Zastryzny now starting instead of Montgomery.
  4. Without the name change, I wouldn't be the leading poster here.
  5. Yeah, you're right.
  6. in a weird meta way i want to make fun of you for not knowing most of us wouldn't know who the hell those guys were either (well, i'm sure the minor league forum nerds know who the pitcher is) Clifton, if it is the MiL Pitcher of the Year Yeah, that's Clifton.
  7. WB, Jake.
  8. No AZL Cubs in their top 20 AZL prospects. I asked about Paredes and Albertos in the chat.
  9. I'm on board with this line of thought. The massive gap in risk starts getting mitigated once you aren't picking top 10 caliber bats and it makes sense that you can get massive value with a pitcher by the compensation rounds. Not to be annoying but just to clarify, in your other post you said Luke Weaver was a HS pick in the comp area but St Louis actually drafted him out of Florida State.

  11. Jim Callis took a stab at what the MLB.com top 10 would look like after next season. Eloy came in at 7 (Gleyber at 5). http://m.mlb.com/news/article/202749152/projecting-mlbs-top-10-prospects-of-2017/?topicid=151437456
  12. excellent news. gives him a week to pitch in a few games. activate bullpen of doom. They want to get him 5 appearances in the regular season.
  13. BA's got a copy of the roster: http://bba.am/6GP5qo
  14. Well maybe not intentionally, but we are where we are. Who's looking like top 5 picks is the real question? http://walterfootball.com/draft2017charlie.php one source has: Kizer - QB Garrett - DE Watson - QB Fournette - RB Barnett - DE Kiper's big board has: 1. *Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M 2. *Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU 3. *Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State 4. Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama 5. Tim Williams, OLB, Alabama PFF goes: Cleveland Browns: Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson San Diego Chargers: Myles Garrett, OLB, Texas A&M Jacksonville Jaguars: Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee San Francisco 49ers: Desmond King, CB, Iowa Tennessee Titans: Jalen Tabor, CB, Florida Myles Garrett might be considered a better prospect coming out of the draft than Clowney was his year (I'm just talking about how well each was thought of on draft day).
  15. Watson isn't good enough to tank for.

  17. Probably could have used Bumgarner in the 8th if he didn't have a fit over Puig looking at him.
  18. Apparently Pernell McPhee went off on Cutler on the sidelines too. I'd be more excited for a high pick if they weren't gonna blow it on an injury-riddled bust.
  19. The San Francisco cops were talking about refusing to work the games entirely Given the racist texts and underage sex scandals, maybe the SFPD should not draw attention on themselves.
  20. Thank goodness I have family in Chicago so I don't have to embarrassingly beg on NSBB.
  21. That would be difficult to suss out considering that Montero exclusively caught the early good-Jake starts. In the second half, Montero has caught Jake 5 times: 33.2 IP, 19 H, 8 ER, 28/9 K/BB, 2 HR Only start with more than 2 runs given up was the game at the Cell. Wow.
  22. Cubs should position their left fielder on the line whenever Scooter bats.
