I had to watch Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS in public and after that, I insist on watching every playoff game at home. I can act like the craziest game thread poster the whole game without fear of embarrassing myself.
Wow, Showalter. Just wow. As someone pointed out on Twitter, Showalter never brought in Wetteland in Game 5 of the 1995 ALDS at Seattle either. And that was a save situation!
I'm pretty sure the first thing I noticed was how upset he was that the Cubs ended relationship with the Peoria Chiefs, and then they didn't include Peoria on that Cubs Caravan thing and maybe something about lack of WGN games. But he really reached his pinnacle when he openly wished for Addison Russell to fall flat on his face and have Samardzija prove how arrogant and wrong Theo was. I loved when Keith Law gave him horsefeathers for the Addison Russell thing.
I know you are just the messenger...but how do I make my roku show the Cubs moving around on my television screen? Sorry, I'm not the guy who can answer that question.
BA's MWL list is out today. Eloy Jimenez was the only Cub on the list and WASN'T number 1. Nick Senzel got the top spot ( ): http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/2016-midwest-league-top-20-prospects/#W8CBHhb2FqmjWAS7.97
Cueto said he was available to pitch out of the pen tomorrow if necessary, but I'm not sure they would start him on short rest Monday. Not sure it matters - Cueto would still start on normal rest in two games in the NLDS (Game 2 on Saturday, Game 5 on Thursday).
Aldemys Diaz hit one that nearly was a HR over that Busch LF wall. It was a double. The horsefeathering umpires reviewed the play themselves (it was a double after review).
Apparently Terry Collins is considering starting Syndergaard Sunday (for HFA in the Wild Card Game!) so two starts in the NLDS isn't out of the question yet.
In this case, they're planning on pitching Colon on short rest Friday to set him for the Wild Card Game. Not only is it really stupid, it would also set Syndergaard to start twice in the NLDS if the Mets win. So hopefully the Mets clinch HFA before Sunday.
