I have no idea why Kohl Franklin isn’t in Myrtle Beach or on the developmental list.

Best pitching prospect in baseball. Don’t waste pitching bullets in the minors:

Leiter pitched yesterday (only 1 inning) so I wonder if Kilian is a realistic option for the doubleheader.

DJ only went 5 innings, not 6. But either way, that’s very exciting. The answer to your question - Brailyn had a 14 K, 0 BB, 1 H outing over 6 innings back in 2019

Swarmer will probably take Smyly’s spot. Won’t they still need another with another DH vs the Cardinals Saturday? Hendricks Thompson Stroman Swarmer/? Steele gets us to the off day. Oh, that’s right. Well, I guess it could be Mills who gets the start for Iowa today.

The math works out for Kilian today(but it also worked out yesterday). Iowa didn’t list a starter so I’m not sure. Both today and tomorrow’s games are on Marquee so we should see him. If it’s Kilian today, it’ll be Cam Sanders tomorrow.

Here’s where I got my Devers info from: https://northsidebound.com/2022/02/10/affiliate-sneak-peeks-myrtle-beachs-rotation-looks-to-young-and-legit/ He was 91-93 last fall before the increase in velocity and his change was decidedly his third pitch back then (per Arizona Phil’s fall write ups), so that would great news if his change has improved. Bryan Smith logged Devers Ks yesterday and the changeup definitely played a prominent role: https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2022/06/01/five-stars-of-the-cubs-farm-5-31-22-the-day-kevin-alcantara-hit-one-very-far-out-of-the-ballpark/

If he doesn’t go today, maybe he takes Smyly’s spot if he’s not ready. Swarmer will probably take Smyly’s spot.
