  1. I pretty much have the same breakdown for next season, though not sure Clarke gets to AAA to start the season. Surely they’ll have a few veteran arms at AAA they’ll cycle through in the bigs and not fear losing to DFA. Derek Casey was ready for AA last year before injury. He should be back from TJS. Hoping Yovanny Cruz gets stretched out next year, even if it’s a 2-3 inning role like Luke Little. Maybe one of those live arms in the ACL (Michael Arias or Kenyi Pérez) is ready for MB next season.
  2. Can’t imagine they have more than $250-$350k (the first $125k doesn’t count to the pool). You’re looking for preps who aren’t as interested in college as suspected - like Dominic Hambley, Esequiel Pagán and Porter Hodge.
  3. Scheduled Game (All Times Central): DSL Cubs Blue at DSL NYY Yankees, 10:00 am DSL Cubs Red at DSL Pittsburgh Gold (resumption of game suspended 7/18), 10:00 am DSL Cubs Red vs DSL Pittsburgh Gold, TBD All stateside teams have the day off

  6. MLB Pipeline rankings on the 4th and 5th rounders: Mike (94): Birdsell (101):
  7. FG ranked the Cubs 3rd, 4th and 5th rounders: Paciolla (93): Mule (92): Birdsell (86):
  8. he gonna pitch or hit? ....or both He seems to be universally considered a better pitcher. The Cubs might let him do both this summer and maybe even next year before forcing him into one, which is what the Cardinals did with Masyn Winn.
  9. 4th rounder: Nazier Mule, RHP/SS, Passaic Tech (NJ) - Miami (FL) commit Ranks: BA - 96 ESPN - FG - 91 MLB - 94 PL - 214
  10. I would have much rather had Ben Joyce I’m not very interested in a once-a-week 1-inning relief pitcher until after the 5th round. Certainly not interested after Carraway and even Crochet.
  11. Cubs pick Christopher Paciolla, prep SS from Temecula in the 3rd, UCLA commit BA: 128 MLB: 166 Prospects Live: 91
  12. You know this already but I love Battles too. He should be a senior sign so that’ll help financially.
  13. So Horton and Ferris appear to be the type of pitchers the Guardians pick.
  14. Longenhagen at FG: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2022-mlb-draft-day-one-recap/
