  1. Boring 3rd for Ferris: K (looking), groundout, flyout. 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 7 K, 49-31 pitches-strikes
  2. Probably the bullpen next. Especially since they can simplify his repertoire which would hopefully help. Anyways, his 2nd inning was much better with no walks.
  3. Strikes out the side in the 2nd, all swinging again. 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K, 37-23 pitches-strikes.
  4. Jackson Ferris' first inning: Strikeout swinging (full count) 4-pitch walk Wild pitch Strikeout swinging (1-2 count) Strikeout swinging (2-2 count) 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K, 20 pitches-10 strikes
  5. Cubs get Kyle Teel. Would have preferred Enrique Bradfield who went 15th. Colin Houck - who Greg Z likes a lot - went just ahead of the Cubs to Arizona. Arizona picking at 12 is definitely going to be annoying since they love up-the-middle athletes a lot.
  6. While Mulé had elbow surgery, he might not have had TJS.:
  7. Scheduled Games (Central Time): Iowa at Columbus, 6:05 pm Tennessee at Rocket City, 6:35 pm South Bend vs. Cedar Rapids, 6:05 pm Myrtle Beach at Columbia, 6:05 pm Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Chris Clarke (6 IP, 3.00 ERA, 3.33 FIP, 10 K, 2 BB) Tennessee: RHP Ryan Jensen (18 IP, 4.00 ERA, 3.31 FIP, 23 K, 13 BB) South Bend: RHP Kohl Franklin (15.1 IP, 3.52 ERA, 4.20 FIP, 24 K, 9 BB) Myrtle Beach: LHP Jackson Ferris - pro debut (2022 2nd round pick)
  8. I think he is clearly a top 30 prospect in the Cubs system at this point.
  9. What a AAA debut! 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 K. The breaking ball is so filthy.
  10. Brown's at 59 pitches so he probably will come back out for the 5th but so far so good in his AAA debut: 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K. I think he's topped out at 97.
  11. Scheduled Games (Central Time): Iowa at Columbus, 5:15 pm Tennessee at Rocket City, 6:35 pm South Bend vs. Cedar Rapids, 6:05 pm Myrtle Beach at Columbia, 6:05 pm Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Ben Brown (at AA: 20 IP, 0.45 ERA, 2.15 FIP, 30 K, 6 BB) Tennessee: RHP Porter Hodge (13.2 IP, 9.22 ERA, 4.55 FIP, 12 K, 8 BB) South Bend: RHP Connor Noland (14.2 IP, 4.30 ERA, 3.76 FIP, 15 K, 7 BB) Myrtle Beach: RHP Grant Kipp (13.2 IP, 5.93 ERA, 5.27 FIP, 14 K, 11 BB)
  12. Regarding Brown and the enhanced grip ball, Meghan Montemurro has a story coming out soon. It does sound like the Cubs wanted to get him to a more comparable ball at AAA.
  13. I think Herz is the likely choice to replace Brown. He seems ready to finish his rehab at Extended ST.
  14. Haydn McGeary was promoted to AA and went 1/4 with a walk in his Tennessee debut. Jackson Ferris was promoted from extended spring training to Myrtle Beach.
  15. Scheduled Games (Central Time): Iowa at Columbus, 5:35 pm Tennessee at Rocket City, 11:05 am South Bend vs. Cedar Rapids, 10:05 am Myrtle Beach at Columbia, 6:05 pm Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Kyle Hendricks (rehab) Tennessee: TBD South Bend: RHP Brandon Birdsell (15.2 IP, 0.57 ERA, 3,14 FIP, 13 K, 6 BB) Myrtle Beach: RHP Cade Horton (10.1 IP, 0.00 ERA, 2.06 FIP, 14 K, 3 BB)
