  1. Forget the All-Star game. TLR should rest Pujols, Edmonds and Rolen on the Sunday night game. That would actually help the Cubs and keep them well-rested for the long flight from SFO to Detroit. :)
  2. Sean Gallagher is the sole Cub on the Hot Sheet this week: Eric Patterson is in the Team Photo.
  3. Cool, I'm like that. :) Of course when the player is struggling, it becomes "Player A doesn't care." Thanks for posting that, Serena!
  4. Off to Polls we go...
  5. Per IowaCubs.com, Kerry hit 96 mph in each of his first three innings.
  6. Congrats, Sammy. Now go get Frank Robinson.
  7. http://fantasybaseball.rotoworld.com/content/clubhouse_news.asp?sport=MLB&majteam=CHC  So Wilson is going to be starting the whole series. Great. He knows the ballpark?? What the hell is that? What, did he give the team bus driver directions on how to get to the stadium? If you wanna play the "knows the ballpark" game, Hairston has played at Yankee Stadium plenty of times while in the AL East. I don't think the stadium or team are very unfamilar to him, or Todd Walker for that matter. You need to know the ins and outs of a ballpark to play second base. Duh. You should know this since you played second in HS. It didn't help out Enrique all that much. Only one error though...imagine if a mere novice like Hairston or Walker played second base instead! Let's ignore the fact that those two got quite a few games at 2B in the Bronx while playing in the AL East.

  9. I can't believe he didn't go in the first round...
  10. He threw off a mound for 5-10 minutes on Sunday according to ESPN.com. Please don't be teasing us here Mark........ Link ESPN showed a clip of him during the game on Sunday. They never showed him actually throwing, but he was standing on the mound about to throw (I think it was the bullpen mound). It was a nice sight. During SportsCenter yesterday, they showed a different clip of Mark throwing on flat ground in the OF and then cut to Kerry striking someone out in Iowa.
  11. And he gets bonus points for going to UCLA.
  12. I always assumed JonMDavis was a Hispanic female poster. I mean, that seemed like an obvious assumption based on his user name. Oh how my world crashed down when we started the pics page.
  13. The Heckler recently had an article that Kerry won his 100th career simulated game. So congrats to him for that! He's so inconsistent as a simulated game starter that I wish the Cubs would switch him to simulated closer. Or trade him for simulated Gange. :)
  14. I just like finding out about NSBB posters. Some of them I'll be like "huh, (username) is female? I wouldn't have guessed by the username. They're a damn good poster" Or "Huh, Raisin is black. Cool." Ok, just by my username and post history how many of you thought I was a big fat hairy overweight white boy? All of you? Thought so. You're all correct in that assumption, btw. ;) Raisin is Indian... Oh. Well aren't I an idiot? I thought he was referring to the Dusty quote a few years ago where he said black people were better in the sun and hot weather. I just assumed. Ok, my bad. I'll shut up now before I get myself into trouble. I was referring to the Dusty quote - brown skin is pretty dark, Indians should be good in the sun, etc. :P And you're not the first one to think I was white based on my Rich Hill avatar - except the other person who decided I was white actually knew my skin color/ethnicity. Also, I'm not 6'5, nor a lefty, nor do I throw one of the prettiest curve balls in all of baseball.
  15. That's just because Baker needs to save Patterson for when the weather heats up. Jeromy's people are at their best in cool weather, and he'll get his days off in July/August. Weren't game time temps last night approaching 80? :-k Dusty logic fails! Approaching 80 is hot? I disagree, and so does Johnnie B. Dusty logic holds and cannot be refuted! 80 is hot for me. And my people are supposedly good in the hot weather. :-s

  17. Bester news, there's just about no way he isn't a free agent next season. How so? He won't negotiate in-season with the O's?
  18. I sat next to some on Saturday. They were drunk, threw stuff after Neifi hit a HR and got kicked out. :) They're probably there to boo the Cubs.
  19. Yes, Corey's OBP is still low, but it has been inching up. It needs to get higher, especially the walks. He was hurt by a really poor April, he walked much more in May and he took a walk yesterday. Hopefully this trend of improvement continues. RBIs? Team stat. I don't care. SBs? He'll have more than 30 if he's healthy all year. He's had some bad luck.
  20. Yup, you're right on CP's contract status. In fact, Corey is under Cubs control till the end of 2007. And I agree with your other post too.
  21. Ron gave a shoutout to NSBB during the DJaxx online broadcast today. Paraphrased, he said something to the extent of: "I want to say hi to the people at NorthSideBaseball.com, a great place to check out Cubs minor league information. I've been talking to some of the great people there the past one and a half days." He went on to talk about how many Cubs fans there are around the country and saying it was a great decision on WT's part to go with online broadcasts. And Ron also rules for answering any DJaxx questions I have when I e-mail him. :D
  22. Congrats, UMF. You better get another sweep...or else!
  23. I think it has something to do with steroids.
  24. Simple question. EDIT: I edited "no-hitter" to "perfect game," for Outshined_One's sake.
