#51 is taken. Gallagher wore #51 in the one Daytona game he pitched. =; Poor Juan Cruz and Jon Leicester.

I remember this debate in Chit Chat (complete with the map and everything). Don't tell me Chit Chat was worthless. We were years ahead of you people.

Well, it depends which weekend I head out to Arizona for spring training. I'd be very interested if you have any spares though (as long as they're $50 or under).

    Are tickets already sold out?

Are you guys really going to able to outbid USC for his services? Well, his parents really want him to go to UCLA, so we obviously outbided USC in that department (Allen himself is supposedly leaning towards USC though :().

Time to visit Spence and play some PSP (especially since he already has his own PSP)!
  8. CaliforniaRaisin
Because he's miles ahead of Pierre in terms of CF defense? If this has to happen, you move Pierre to RF.

    Soda.

I'll be pissed if Z gets hurt.

5-star LB/S Allen Bradford is down to USC and UCLA and he visits UCLA Friday. It'd be nice to have a 5-star kid pick UCLA over USC. Hasn't happened since Marcedes Lewis came to UCLA.

    Sideways hat?

Wow, Chris Young for Javier Vasquez? The DBacks have a glut of young minor league OFs, especially with Young ready by the end of this year too. Can we trade for Quentin or Tracy yet?
  14. CaliforniaRaisin
That's not even close to what they supposedly were asking from us. I forget the name of their pitching prospect, but considering Anaheim's superior minor league system, he's probably better than anything the Cubs are offering. Cabrera & Shields are nice pickups too. Anaheim's pitching prospects aren't anywhere near as good as their hitting prospects.

You do if there are two outs in the ninth and the broken bat causes you to hit a weak grounder instead of a line drive to the outfield. :D Moises!!

Would you trade Pie for Huff? If not, why? I'm curious why everyone's gotten the idea that Pie is untouchable. I think that is an equally good question to others that are mad with the Cubs not getting Bradley. Would you trade Pie for Bradley? If the Dodgers were looking for a higher level OF prospect for Bradley, the Cubs were never going to be able to work out a deal. I wouldn't. Of course the A's didn't trade a prospect anywhere near Pie's level.

Would you trade Pie for Huff? If not, why? I'm curious why everyone's gotten the idea that Pie is untouchable. I wouldn't, because I don't think Huff is that good (based on his declining stats from last year). Would you trade him for anyone outside of a "superstar"? Probably not.

Apparently posters feel there's something to talk about. If you don't want to read about Tejada, don't read that thread. PM a mod if you have a problem.

How much say does Chuck actually have in the Cubs front office?
  21. CaliforniaRaisin
So I take it Ned Colletti got a cell phone? (For those who don't know, after he had been hired by the Dodgers, the Giants cancelled his cell phone plan and he didn't have another one. He couldn't be contacted during part of the winter meetings.)
  22. CaliforniaRaisin
I didn't watch the end of the Saints-Falcons game - I take it Vick got hurt? What happened?
  23. CaliforniaRaisin
No clue, Banedon. All I know is I get the Bears game here in LA, which is awesome.
  24. CaliforniaRaisin
No, see the point is playoff football is different than regular season football. You can get away with winning just with defense in the regular season. But in the postseason you will need your QB to make a play. And that is where the argument for Rex comes from. We know Kyle can't make that play. We don't know if Rex can, but at least he has a chance. Exactly.

Don't be surprised if we don't see Grossman in a game until '06. If the don't take the risk with Grossman, the Bears likely won't be winning a playoff game.
