  1. Jackson Ferris also made this list.
  2. Berti played multiple playoff games at 1B last year for the Yankees. He'd probably be the first up. Happ has some 1B experience in the bigs too. Ballesteros has a bit of experience in the minors. Alcántara would probably be the first choice at CF if PCA is hurt, ahead of Canario I'd guess.
  3. MLB Pipeline top 100: Cam Smith - 59 Jackson Ferris - 71 Zyhir Hope - 75
  4. 35. Matt Shaw 54. Cade Horton 62. Moisés Ballesteros 64. Owen Caissie 71. Kevin Alcántara No James Triantos 51. Zyhir Hope 55. Cam Smith 82. Jackson Ferris
  5. Great news for Cade Horton: https://www.mlb.com/cubs/news/cade-horton-looks-to-join-cubs-in-2025
  6. Anything $10k or less doesn't count to your pool.
  7. The big dollar Cubs guys all signed today so that speculation was pointless.
  8. None of the Cubs signings are official. I wonder if a pool space trade is in the works. Obviously they're currently over their pool space so something needs to give. I wonder if they'd let one of their top IFAs go and trade pool space to the Sasaki winner for a good prospect.
  9. He's listed at 6' on MiLB.com and BA said he is 5'10" but age matches up so I think you're right.
  10. Cubs signings per Francys Romero and Baseball America: SS Wilfri de la Cruz, Dominican Republic - $2.3 million SS Juan Cabada, Dominican Republic - $1.5 million IF Juan Thomas, Dominican Republic- $1.1 million SS Jaims Martínez, Cuba - $900,000 SS Luis Santos, Dominican Republic - $135,000 OF Julio Acosta, Dominican Republic - $124,000 RHP Erick Hernández, Venezuela - $75,000 IF Luis Abreu, Dominican Republic - $60,000 SS Elerick Gómez, Venezuela - $60,000 IF Alexander Herrera, Venezuela - $30,000 OF Freiker Betancourt, Venezuela - $25,000 OF Luis Sánchez, Venezuela - $20,000 RHP Tadeo Gámez, Mexico Current pool is $6,261,600 so either some of these signings aren't official or the Cubs are going to need to trade for pool space.
  11. I do like blending together all the major national publications. It paints a good (and probably the best) picture.
  12. I'd say in the last few years, it would be ESPN or Fangraphs.
  13. Most 7-figure IFAs are stateside after one season in the DSL. Off the top of my head, this was true for Kevin Made, Moisés Ballesteros, Cristian Hernández, Adán Sánchez, Jefferson Rojas, Ángel Cepeda and Derniche Valdez.
  14. Correct that the Cubs have $6.26 million but the agreements they have are all handshake agreements and can be backed out of, if necessary. Sadly, this seems to happen to a few kids ever year.. Plus they can trade for up to 60% of their pool, which would be an additional $3.75 million.
  15. FYI - Wilfri de la Cruz is expected to sign for $2.3 million. Juan Cabada is expected to sign for $1.5 million. Juan Tomas is expected to sign for $1.1 million.
  16. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/baseball-americas-2025-scout-survey-evaluators-fear-games-direction-amid-doom-and-gloom-offseason/
  17. Sasaki has to sign by 1/22 or 1/23 so I bet any team that thinks it has a chance will wait the extra week before formally signing their big time IFAs.
